Do you think orals can keep the lyme/cos in dormant? If I have to, I will live on them, but the test is getting out of the hell hole and getting back to yourself. I believe it got it in the 1980's or before and I'm 47 now. Thanks and feel well.

I had Lyme for at least 9 or 10 years before I was diagnosed. I started treatment in 2005 and have only been on orals since then.
By taking the antibiotics, plus supplements, I've gotten well enough to be back at work full time--this from having so many physical and neuro symptoms I couldn't see how I'd ever manage a full time job again.
I'm not completely well, but I am well enough to have a productive work life and a pretty full social life. I'm still hoping I can get completely well, but at this point, I can't even remember what "normal" used to be like.

Good for you Andie. Not in a good place now mentally or physically, but had this at least 25+ years. Feel good.

I got Lyme in the early 70's. I had some times I felt pretty good and others where I was disabled by fatigue. Eventually, I went into remission for 12 years until I got bitten again.
That bite was 7 years ago. It took three years to get diagnosed, another three of treatment. I've been off abx now since Sept. 2008 when I switched to alternative. I've been well for a year this month.
You can beat this if it's treated properly even if you've had it a very long time.

I was infected for 18 years before my diagnosis. I've been treating with oral abx, herbs, supplements, diet and exercise since April 2008.
I feel 75% improved. I expect to achieve a complete remission in the next 12 months. I do not plan to take abx into perpetuity, although if it was the ONLY way to achieve remission, I would.

Yes, I do oral. I think it may also depend on the strain we get and how it affects us. I have the soft tissue/joint kind, not severe neuro that often gets the IV treatment.
