Good evening friends,
I have had problems with my knees for awhile now associated with this disease.
most days I live with the pain. Well, today I woke up to my right knee swollen and full of fluid, bruised bloody looking skin around the knee cap.
The fluid usually disappears in a couple days and the swelling goes away, but the pain stays.
I'm not sure what I am asking from you. I'm not real crazy about going to the dr.
Do I dare might be talking about surgery? Will this go away maybe with contiued lyme treatment?
Do any of you have this problem with your knees? Do I need to worry?
Thanks

DON'T do surgery. (Knee surgery... Right?) No real need. And the stress of any surgery can lead to further issues, including more inflammation.
You can have that fluid drained right at the doctor's office w/ something as simple as a needle/syringe. My PCP did just that.
YES, the swelling & associated pain WILL go away with continued Lyme treatment. Discuss it all with your "treatment provider". Good luck!

surgery will only a)do nothing b)make it worse c)cause further problems d)create more financial stress.. etc etc etc.
so i say the same as kete.

Thank you for your insight on this.
I didn't even want to think of surgery. kindof got a sour distaste towards drs.
Ice packs ok?

Ice paks should be fine but don't overdo it.
Mind my asking what "lyme treatment" you're on?

Sure you can ask.
I am taking 10 freeze dried garlics a day, spread out of course; epson/perox/ginger detox bath 3x per week with a couple herbs for inflamation.
Vitamins, B-12 shots, omegas, magnesium, ginger root, and eating and drinking healthy.
It's working for me....less pain since introducing the detox baths into it all. tolerable pain with a few rough ones here and there.
Thanks for asking.
