Hello, My 13 year old who stands 5'8" and weighs 120lbs. I give her the Milk Thistle in a drop form b/c she takes SO many pills already. I give her the "Gaia" brand.
Serving size says "30 drops" of Silybum Marianum in organic grain alcohol (65-75%) Herb strength ratio 1:1.
I give her 15 drops after each round of abx....is this enough to protect her or should I be giving her more or a different suppliment?
Worried about her liver as she continues to feel drained and miserable, thanks for helping me

My 14 year old takes milk thistle capsules. She is of adult size also, so I give her the adult dosing on the bottle.
I'm thinking that you would come out cheaper on the pills.
And "up" means that someone is trying to put your post to the top so that it will be seen.

She might just be drained from the infections. As far as the drops my kids would rather take a pill the size of Miami. They hate drops. I understand your concern about protecting the liver. But like others said, have regular bloodwork to check liver function. Check with your doc to see what interval he recommends.

Goodness, thanks for the explainations and advise, I truly appreciate each and every one of you!
Does anyone have any recommendations on brand names, good prices they are satisfied with and how much one should take?

OptiMisTic, no she does not, she has them every three months when she is seen in office. However, I don;t know how much longer I can afford to fly up every three months which is beginning to worry me.
Thanks for the support, I will try asking (even though she HATES having all this bloodwork (who doesn't, right?!
KidsgotLyme I think your right about the costs on pills, I was trying to minimize the amount of pills she had to take but your idea makes sense. How far apart do you separate them? What brand do you like to use?
AlanaS..I hear you on that one! However we discovered a trick if you ever need it...orange juice does wonders!
