Everyone seems to be getting Mepron along with another antibiotic but my doc is only giving me Mepron. Anyone know why?

I've taken Zithromax and did not have any problems with it. Same doc had me on it.

My understanding is that Mepron needs to be taken along with another antibiotic, like zithromax, to keep it from becoming resistant.
Zithromax does nothing for me by itself, but has proven effective in combination with Mepron/Zith/Tindamax to attack all forms of babesia.

Perhaps this doctor is poorly unformed.

I would not take it by itself. The other options for babs treatment carry much greater potential for some pretty bad complications, so you really don't want to risk letting your infection become resistant to this.
Malaria very readily becomes treatment-resistant.

The doc is an LLMD working at a lyme clinic who has helped me a lot. Maybe he isn't worried about creating a resistant strain because I live in the north (got bit in CA) and will not be around biting insects to spread a resistant bug.
Don't know but looks like I better ask him next appointment.

It's not about spreading it. The point is that Mepron may lose it's effectiveness against your infection and you will lose one weapon in your arsenal.
Resistance develops RAPIDLY.
