So, today is the worst I have felt since my first month of treatment. I'm still functional, but feel like I have the flu or something. Fatigue, nausea, chills, etc.
I am hopin that it is just a Bart herx due to Rifampin, but worry I am relapsing as I changed a lot of meds around the same time. Specifically:
Sept 16: Stopped Biaxin / Amantadine, re-started Doxy Sept 17: Started Levaquin for Bart. Had periods of stomach issues / nausea over the next week. Not related to Doxy. Sept 23: stopped 20 mg Prozac Oct 1: Stopped Levaquin due to tendon discomfort. I also hated this drug. I suspect it kicked up the bart. I felt very "off" while on it. Oct 3: no Bart Drugs. Flu like symptoms. Oct 4: start Rifampin. Increase in word loss for a day. Increase in GI symptoms and moments of ear symptom flares.
So now I feel like crap. Hoping it is a Bart herx, but not sure as I've changed so much.

Did you stop your Prozac cold turkey? That alone can really mess you up.
Some of us really herx hard on the Rifampin. But it can also hike your Liver Enzymes and make you really sick that way. I thought I was herxing (I think I was) but also my liver enzymes were through the roof. I had a bad headache, bad stomach and was itchy. I felt very very ill.
You should definately check those liver enzymes if you haven't yet (some Docs do it every two weeks).

Thanks..yes did stop Prozac cold turkey, but met with my psycho-pharmacologist today who said Prozac (particularly a low dose like 20mg that I was on) can be stopped cold as it has a 36h half life. All others you MUST taper.
Seeing my LLMD today and will get bloodwork.

I know sometimes it is tempting, but never change more than 1 thing at a time. That way you will know what is actually causing the problem.

I'm sure all the changes can be contributing to your symptoms but also Rifampin is strong stuff. It can throw you for a loop.
How much are you on? I'm trying to start at a low dose and it is already kicking my butt.
