expect to get flu like symptoms?

I never had a bulls eye rash but several years ago I did have a rash that seemed like hives -- like dozens of mosquito bites right next to each other. It itched like crazy and came and went for probably a year.

I have a vague memory of thinking "maybe I got attacked by a bunch of mosquitos when we were camping". But mosquito bites itch immediately, not days later when you're already home.

And now my husband tells me we had to leave that camping trip early because I got the flu. I don't even remember that. It's hard to remember when this all happened because it was insignificant at the time. My best guess is about 10 years ago.

I've been sick with lyme for about 15 months now. I'm not sure any of this matters. I guess I'm just trying to figure out where I picked this up.

I figured the flu symptoms would come on several days after the tick bite. Maybe it was just a coincidence.

It's different for everyone but even as soon as 20 minutes after an infected tick has bitten, some have developed symptoms. But some don't get symptoms for weeks - or years.

In 12 hours, borrelia can get into the nervous system. Whether it flares then or not depends on so many things.

Wow. Thanks for the info. Even though it wasn't a bulls eye rash, I can't help but think maybe that was a tick bite.

If so, it would mean I had it when I was pregnant/nursing both my kids. My kids aren't symptomatic now, but it's still hard to not worry about them.
