You must become your own patient advocate. Research all LLMD’s that are referred to you. To do this, google for patient reviews. Or join your local Lyme support group. Support groups offer first-hand experiences with LLMS’s in your area.
Many LLMD’s have a wait-list (Lyme Disease is an epidemic) so be sure to ask to be put on their cancellation list in order to get in sooner.
For your 1st appointment, be prepared. Bring with you ALL results of ALL medical procedures, blood labs, medications, all doctors and specialist’s visited, a daily symptom list, etc. This can save you money!
Many LLMD’s don’t participate with insurances so your 1st visit will be the most expensive and the longest in duration.
Be sure to utilize LymeNet’s ‘search’ function located in the middle of the home page. It contains the most comprehensive Lyme treatments, Lyme symptoms, Lyme experiences and opinions by former and current Lyme sufferers. We are all in this together,
If you have any questions, please feel free to post in LymeNet’s open forum and a member will respond. I will send you a private message.
