Sorry to those people!!! Looks like I'll be trying to find a new doc after July too! Anyone know of a good lyme doc near Northcentral IL???? Jaws

DR B's name was given to me for a LLMD for my son in the Chicago area. Would you please let me know also what other LLMD I can refer him to? Thanks.

I've got an appointement in a couple of days there with Dr.M. I'll see what I can find out then about what he'll be doing or where he'll be going, if I can!

I am sorry to hear that news. There is no other LLMD in Illinois. We go to Dr S. in PA. Many go to Missouri to see Dr C. I heard that Dr B. has Lyme and that is why she is on a leave. Perhaps Dr M. will set up his own office. Best wishes to all. Ann

I also just received a letter regarding the closing of Dr. B/ or M's office. I am quite worried about this since my primary doctor is clueless about lyme. Would appreciate a pm if anyone knows of other LLMD's in the area. Just 4 months into treatment and no where near feeling well yet. Thanks

Send me a Private Message and I can furnish you with a list of Midwestern LLMD's.
It's easier if you send me the PM. Otherwise I'm likely to miss folks that need a new doc.

Well, I had my appointment today with Dr.M, and he is trying to find a place with another doctor to work with, and no luck yet, but I left my name so if he does find a place he'll let me know, and I'll pass it on. Sounds like the cost of business might be part of the reason for the closing , too, so who knows for sure??!! Dr. M. could use some prayers in finding a place to continue to treat lyme patients! There's still about a month and a half left before the clinic closes. good luck all

Yeah, that's what I thought, too. Any smaller town farther away from Chicago would probably be less costly,- and patients are traveling to find a lyme doc!

Hi -- this is my first message on LymeNet. I have been reading for a while, and have found some very valuable information here. I wanted to say thank you to all of you for sharing your personal stories and advice. It has meant so much to me.
I was so shocked to hear the news that Dr. B/M are closing -- they told me on the phone yesterday when I called to confirm an appt. I feel devastated, but am trying to remain optimistic.
Had a phone appt. with Dr. M today. He told me that he may join a practice in Elgin, or may end up overseas doing missionary work.
He recommended two doctors for Lyme, one in the western suburbs (yay!) and one in northern WI. Send me a message if you'd like their names and numbers. I don't know anything about them, only that Dr. M said to call them.
If anyone has any other recommendations within driving distance of Chicago, please let me know! I'm not sure what I'm going to do next.
I wanted to come to the support group meeting tonight at Dr B's, but had a dog-related emergency so I missed it.
Will there be one more support group meeting before they close?
Will the support group continue to meet after they close?
If you need a new meeting space, I'd be happy to help work on that. I could look into public libraries. They usually have nice conference rooms that groups can reserve in advance.
Thanks!
