I'm new to lymenet, although I have visited many times over the past few months. We live in NC and I am seeing Dr J, which is a problem because of the limitations of the state medical board.

In December 06, I had an Igenex WB
IGM 31++, 41 IND IGG 31 IND,
39 IND, 41++. I have been having numerous medical problems for more than 10 years that have intensified significantly the past 2 yrs.

I am doing an antibiotic challenge right now. Through all this ordeal I have worried about my children, especially my daughter.

She had a EM like rash inside her right elbow over 2 years ago, a perfectly round red circle. It would come an go. Each time the rash appeared she would have a viral like illness.

I thought the spot was ringworm and tried antifungals, but finally researched the rash online and came up with EM rashes and lyme disease.

Took her to pediatrician and asked about lyme, was told since I had not seen a tick it was unlikely. Was sent to dermatologist who biopsied the site and really nothing unusual showed up.

She has had problems with her feet (plantar fascitis), has had PT for knee pain, has hip pain, fatigue, migraine headaches, raynauds in her toes, symptoms of anxiety, etc, etc.

Now I know she should have been treated just because she had the rash.

I took her to the pediatrician and discussed her symptoms and the possible lyme connection. The reaction was typical. I did get her to draw blood for lyme testing with immunosciences labs.

The immunoserology came back positive for lyme and babesia, although the WB was negative.

I need to find a llmd to treat her, since NC is pretty much a dead end right now. We can travel so she can be treated. Any recommendations for the best doc for children would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Tammy

Dr J in CT is the BEST. There are drs in VA who may help you.

Dr C in MO also works with children.

If you need phone numbers, let me know thru a private message.
