I've been diagnosed with LD for over four years (sick many years before that).

I currently have a GP that has some experience treating LD in a nearby city and he is willing to learn more and is very open minded.

I have been seeing a psychiatrist (for depression, anxiety and insomnia) and a counselor (mainly for support dealing with chronic illness).

I am not happy with either of them at this time as they have little if any knowledge about LD and I feel like they think that I am a dramatic and perhaps a hypochondriac! I am constantly having new or reappearing symptoms and due the the ignorance regarding LD and have been referred to several specialist in different areas in the past year.

I am wondering if anyone can recommend a psychiatrist that is knowledgable or at least open-minded or preferably an APRN that could to med management as well as therapy.

I am severely depressed and feel very hopeless right now and feel like I need to see someone ASAP.

Thanks for any information you can provide.

Amanda
