I am a late stage lyme patient who was just diagnosed with four co-infections. I was just started on a protocol of new antibiotics (keytek and mepron).
How can I know if my low grade fevers and Lyme symptoms are a continuation of lyme or are they a herx?
Also has anyone heard of the rife machine and its use for Lyme patients? Is it a hoax, or if real can it be used with abx?

Talktel, Welcome to lymenet. I'm sorry you need to be here. You can do a search and read many posts about rife machines. Pros and cons.
Hit the search tab from above and type in rife and set to medical questions and you will have reading for many hours.
Take care, Pam

Actually, the rife is real and does have some science behind it.
I have never used it, but Les Roberts who runs the Pensacola, FL group knows a great deal. If you would like his contact information, just email me.

According to some, you need to rife without abx. That said, I would suggest you go the route of taking abx first. If you end up being a treatment failure, then go for Rife.
I have recently purchased a rife machine. I've been treated for Lyme/babesia for 5 yrs. I'm doing great, but do not want to return to abx.
As for those herxes....eventually, you will figure it out. Keeping a diary of symptoms and when you begin new meds [or which med you took] will help you pinpoint the difference between a herx and a backslide.
I would rest assured that if you are taking abx, you're not backsliding. Just my opinion.
