Hi-well I lost my job on Monday..guess they got tired of waiting for me to get well. I have been out since Feb..I tried to go back in July and only lasted about a month. This is getting very hard to deal with now. I thought I was getting better and right now am sitting here back with the dizziness, low fever, very emotional, ears clogged/ringing thing..I am hoping I am just sick with the flu or something but I don't know. Also having a very difficult time with the ITP - my platelets are the lowest they have been at 9,000. My WBC are also low..can this be from lyme? Or from yeast? ( I have that bad too). Sometimes I wonder if I will ever be well and it gets very hard to deal with. I'm so tired of being sick! Thanks for letting me vent-- I feel a little better. Natalie

I am so sorry you lost your job. It can be very frustrating to not feel well enough to work.
I don't know much about platelets so I'll let the more informed answer that for you.
Just wanted you to know that I can sympathize with your predictament. Take care

Hi Natalie, I'm sorry about your job. When I had to stop working it was hard on my ego and I worried about finances. But the only way for me to recover was to focus on healing.
ITP- the I stands for idiopathic. In other words doctors don't know the cause. Could lyme cause it? Lyme does many things so there could be a relationship or they may be seperate.
A quick search on pub med for lyme and ITP revealed two articles. In summary, the relationship is possible but unproven. Here are the links to the two articles:

I am so sorry about the loss of your job. I know that, on top of the financial impact, it represents other losses as well.
My son had ITP. With platelets that low, have they offered you anything to bring them up? IVIg really helped my son, he went from platelets at about 4000 to 20000 in a few days, and they kept climbing.
Best wishes, Hayley

Natalie, so sorry to read they fired you! I don't have expertise on that; can you file for unemployment?
Did you work in Aug. or LAST PHYSCIAL DAY AT WORK IN JULY?
You can file in 6 months of NOT WORKING for SSDI, social security disability insurance beneits. If you want info on that, let me know.
Send me a PM, private message, and I'll send you about 10 pages of info on how to do this correctly so you can win the 1st time on the 1st step vs. years beore an admin law judge 1 on 1 hearing!
My prayers are headed your way today & in future. May God watch over and guide you during your saddness and loss of a job. Bettyg
