Hello Everyone:

PLEASE help me spread the word to the various Lyme groups online. I posted a disclaimer on the ordering page on the website, but apparantly some people did not read it...but it is posted there with red letters to draw attention.
I am sorry for any confusion about the quantity ofpapers that will fit into the flat rate box. When we first started out the paper and it was 12 pages, and later when we switched to 16 pages it all fit 70 copies to the flat rate box.

In the Jun issue when we went to 20 pages, we could no longer fit 70 copies into the box.

In the July issue the printer made us switch formats to the a 12.5 x 22 inch format rather than our previous 11 x 17 format...so obviously the space of the paper became much larger AND we also kept it at 20 pages rather than decreasing the pages...so, with the increased size format and increased pages we can no longer fit 70issues into a box.

With the new format, we can only fit 44-45 issues.

For the next issue I am going to see if having it only folded in half rather than a quarter fold will buy us any more space to fit in the boxes...but for now, we can only get 44-45
copies per box.

If you need more copies, you will need to order a second box.

Since the postage rates increased in May, so also did the flat rate box mailing price.

For those who sent $10 checks out of habit, no problem, I will eat the cost this month. But please help me pass the word that the size of the paper has now increased to a full size newspaper rather than a tabloid size paper.

Please be patient with the changes that were mandated by the printers. I had no choice whatsoever in the matter. I checked other printers but the cost was 5 & 6 times HIGHER than we were currently paying.

So my only option was to not print the paper at all and go completely ONLINE... and was not an option I wanted to entertain at all. I think the
printed paper has value when it is put in someone's hands.

So please understand that the format change is why we can no longer fit 70 copies in the box. The purpose of a "flat rate" box is that whatever will
fit into the box will be shipped at the flat rate postage. So with the larger format, fewer copies will fit into the box.

I do hope you will see the value of the changes in the format though. We look more like a real newspaper in that we are the same size as the NY Times and other major newspapers now. We have more room for content and new writers.

Please bear with me through these changes.

I am making the best of the situation I was given and hoping my readers will adjust to the changes as well.

If you would like to purchase more boxes, just fill out the online form and I will get more boxes into the mail ASAP.

Thanks for understanding,
Dawn
