I was dx w/ Lyme 2 years ago- given 4 weeks doxy and told I was cured.
I don't feel better and have jumped from hoop to hoop to hoop with docs.
At present, I do not have enough $$ for a LLMD
Anyway- I had a visit with my neuro last week who told me I have fibromyalgia.
I was given the MS dx, reneged...now fibro. Sigh.
So, I am now on Lyrica for pain management, but I am worried about it causing Lyme symptoms to worsen.
Has anyone either had positive reaction to lyrica or negative reaction to it?
I know in my gut I have Lyme- but no doc will touch me and are all willing to misdiagnos me to get me on my way out the door.
I hope I am making sense...I have heavy brain fog today.
I have been on Lyrica for 4 days...the 1st day, I felt some relief....but today, I am in a great deal of pain even on it. Both knees and both legs hurt so bad, my hips, worse brain fog.
Thanks for the replies.

A friend at work who came down with the same bizarre symtpoms as I did said that lyrica has changed her quality of life.
I have wanted to try it but can't afford it and insurance will not provide it.
I have scanned posts on the topic here on lymenet.
it seems it helps some and doesn't do anything for others.
I would say it is worth a try.

I was prescribed Lyrica when yet another doctor told me I had fibromyalgia.
It actually really helped my leg pain, but unfortunately I had the "drunk" effect. I felt spacey, I couldn't drive while taking it, it was kind of like being stoned all day.
What sucks is that I have a nearly full bottle of it that I totally can't use, and have yet to find a legal way to sort of donate all these expensive, unused medications.

I had the same problem with it as Ladycakes, the drunk "out of it" feeling even at the lowest dose of 25mg.
Just recently, since off IV, I'm doing more I had/have more pain in lower back, ankles & feet. Thought I'd try it again. I'm tolerating it much better. Not spacey on the 25 mg.
Lyrica easing the pain...stops the pain in my feet and ankles but back still hurting.
