I want to know if anyone knows how to report doctors that don't treat well, etc.

This has nothing to do with an LLMD.

It was my primary, and a few others who dismissed all my claims over the years.

I feel they should have their license taken away or something.

If nothing else, I would love to post my experiences with some of these doctors for others to read. Not here on lymenet, but there has to be somewhere to report them?

Suggestions please, I am ****ed!

I was told by my primary that they did not have time to make me a referral. I had the number for them and all, and they still refused because they were just too busy.

Then today I called to ask if my doc knew of anyone who would treat Lyme in my area. I was told to go the doctor that ran the lyme test for a referral.

I said I did, that didn't work because the doc I was sent to doesn't believe you can get Lyme in NC.

So I said, I understand she won't refer, but can you just ask her if she knows of any docs who treat lyme.

She again, told me I needed to go to the doctor that ran the lyme. Again, I said I'm not asking you for a referral just a name. This went back and fourth like 4 times.

She preceeded to get nasty and I got MUCH NASTIER.

I am just sick of rude a$$ ignorant people. I mean they are in a profession designed to help people, not push them away.

Ok, done venting, but I still want to report them.

Asking a doctor who does not treat you well and who does not understand lyme to refer you may not get you a good specialist., Most doctors actually have no idea and would likely send you to a ID doctor or a shrink.

You can find an ILADS educated, LL doctor here, I hope:

If you want to report a doctor for not referring you to a lyme specialist, they will likely get the "doctor of the year" award from their county and state medical associations.

I hate to say it would be of no use, but you will have to go into the lyme stuff and you will be up against a brick wall - making it harder for any doctors out there who actually do treat lyme.

Sometimes, we just have to fly under the radar. It is wrong that you were treated this way, but there is no way the medical board would do a thing other than congratulate the doctor.

Sorry.

Someone bring up the alligator pit!!!

Toss them all in there.. then...

I'd LOVE to see you contact the Medical Board in your state and file complaints. They are the ones who nailed our doctor.. one of the best.. and stranded all the patients.

They SUCK!@!#^!!

I actually rode through your entire state with a great big sign on the back of my truck that said something like...

Ticks and the NC Medical Board SUCK!

So have at them! Eat them for breakfast.

Until more folks do.. things won't change.

Sorry you are being hurt by this war. You don't deserve it.

Ahhh Tincup, You made me smile!

Katc, we may as well complain about every doctor in this state. The medical board has them all shaking in their boots.

I wonder if writing the attorney general would help? Wish I knew how to get the medical board to be the focus.

I understand your frustration. It is hard to let go of the anger.

It back fired on me when I was first looking for answers.

I don't recall who I wrote to. Perhaps the State Medical Board.

But, my letter went to all doctor's I saw after that. It showed up before I did.

The doctor's would tell me they knew that neuro I saw and that he was a good guy and there was nothing they could do for me.

This was before I realized what a sad state of affairs our medical system is in when it comes to something attacking the inside of the body.

I also filed the paper work with the watch dogs for insurance companies with the state of CA.

That too back fired on me.

All the doctor's I had seen up to that point had to report in. They did not appreciate the extra work.

One said I tried to sue him.

That was not my goal. My goal was to get to see the specialist that some of the doctor's wanted me to see but the insurance would not provide it and I could not get in to see the doctor on my own without a doctor's recommendation ahead of time.

The doctor's would not recommend it because as one said...it was not coming out of her pocket.

I did not understand this at the time. I just wanted a recommendation so I could see the specialist at Stanford.

I had planned on paying out of pocket.

AS it turned out what she meant is that if she recommended him then their was a problem with insurance being liable for me to see him.

And if she went over her contract on how much she was going to spend for the quarter with the insurance company then she would loose her quartley budget.

Thus..it would come out of her pocket.

I would just not go back to the doctor's that are not good.

We had a local doctor that started a business here in town and quickly went out of business.

I went to him once. he had a mother in law who died of lyme.

He told me that he could not see me for longer than 5 min on our second visit because insurance would not allow him.

Since the insurance company was paying his bills, he listened to them instead of trying to help people.

He even started calling past patients and asking them why they discontinued coming to his office.

I live in a small town. I feel if I lived in a larger town that the doctor's most likely could stay in business much longer.

IN small towns word gets out.

There also was a web site I ran across at one time where you could rate a doctor.

But, sorry I do not recall the URL or name.
