I have recently been diagnosed with Lyme/Ehrlichia and have decided to go to PA for treatment. There is a doctor there that is highly recommended.

I have been sick for 20 years, so I am willing to drive the 17 hours needed for treatment. However, because I am sick, finances are scarce.

I do not normally ask for help, and I am almost scared to do this because you hear of so many horror stories, but I think I will need long term treatment, so if I can keep the costs down somewhat, we might be able to keep our house.

Is anyone from these areas willing to offer a quick place to stay overnight and a place to shower? It would be me, my husband, and my daughter. We would all sleep in the same room.

If you can not offer or are scared to, can you find me the cheapest motels along our route but it must be safe!! I do not want to put my daughter in any jeapordy.

From Florida North on I-65 North. The plan is to drive all the way to Nashville (10 hours) and stay overnight. The next morning we will continue north to complete the drive on I-71 through Ohio and over to PA, a little past Akron OH.

Please PM me. I am not going to list the town we will stay in for 2 nights because I do not want anyone to be able to find out who the doctor is. It is a small town, so I do not want to risk his idenity at all!! I need him!! [Smile]

Hosts for Hospitals program is for the Philadelphia area. Several LLMDs are within driving distance to Philadelphia; this program could benefit many Lyme patients.

PHILADELPHIA'S HOSTS FOR HOSPITALS PROGRAM
Our Purpose...
is to provide free lodging and support at volunteer-host homes as a caring response to the housing needs of patients and their families who come to the Greater Philadelphia area for specialized medical care.

Each year, thousands of people travel to the Philadelphia area seeking medical care.
Almost every patient has someone travel along to provide support. Often these people, and even the patients themselves, arrive in desperate need of convenient, inexpensive lodging.

Hosts for Hospitals meets their needs through our network of volunter host homes. Our hosts are caring people who provide a place to sleep and a feeling of home. Guests are able to return to the hospital each day refreshed and thus able to best offer support to their loved one.

RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE
I learned that patients traveling for the evaluation and treatment of Lyme disease qualify for staying at the Ronald McDonald House. They serve inpatients and outpatients.

I made a request at the Ronald McDonald House in Philly and South NJ, but there's no guarantee we'd get a room. You can be guaranteed a room through Homes for Hospitals. Nancy 3.08

there is 1 tenn. llmd also; sent you my PENN. list in case you didn't get it earlier.

i do know we have several nashville area members, and you can find them by using DIRECTORY at top.

go to 2nd blank line on left side
type in nashville OR tennessee..chose one;
click search
it will bring up our members, and most current are on BOTTOM OF LIST.

those are my quick ideas.

also have you printed out my FINANCIAL BURDENS info compiled by melanie reber; found in my newbie package?

please go to my newbie links, copy the entire thing, and then print this off....

financial burdens compiled by melanie reber
pages 74 - 92; outstanding info there.

also in my table of contents, for FINANCIAL BURDENS, i believe there are a few more general comments there without links!! print that off too as it's newer info from members thru their own personal, tragic experiences.
thoughts and prayers headed your way..

best wishes betty! [group hug] [kiss]
