I have a 22 year old son in the National Guard who is leaving this week to begin his deployment to the Middle East. There are several family events I would love to be at for him during the week.

On Wednesday I went to the grocery store and since it was 40* and sunny, I didn't wear my turtleneck, sweatshirt, and down coat. [bonk] I got chilled and have not been doing well.

On Thursday I had my weekly massage and then decided to use our new far infrared sauna for the 1st time(20 min at 105-110).

I woke up last night at 3am with a temp of 102.3. This morning I felt better and then decided to take some Azith.(I'm not on any abx right now) since I had been around my grandkids who had strep. Within an hour or so my temp spiked to 103.7 and stayed there for several hours. I'm down to about 100 and feel alive again.

I'm not sure if this is a herx or not, but thinking possibly since I had quite a bit of eye twitching going on. I don't think I have been this acutely sick for over 25 years, before I had my tonsils out. Where my tonsils were I have some red streaks and also some blistering or pus pockets.

If you could pray that I will be better tomorrow and able to go to the events Saturday night, Sunday morning, Tuesday afternoon and evening, and possibly Wednesday and Thursday, I would really appreciate it.

Thank you!

Prayers to you and your son.

Asking the Lord to surround you both with his Angels.

-------------------------------------------------

If you have pockets of pus in your throat,

It sounds like strep.

Keep taking the zith.....

The twitching may just be an added bonus.

High fever like that usually is indicative on an acute onset of infection (strep or other).

While I've run low grade fevers with herxes,

Any of my high fevers have been when I was lucky enough to "catch" something else.

Of course, you could go get your throat swabbed to really see.

Maybe call your LLMD just to touch base.

Hugs,

Geneal

Thank you all for your heartfelt prayers. I'm definitely feeling better today so even though I'm sad to have missed last nights and this mornings events, it looks like I will be better by Tuesday.

General - I don't know if strep would show up after having been on abx. I almost went into the Target quick clinic today(Sunday) to confirm that or Influenza, which my daughters who live at home had a week ago. I was under the weather then so I thought I had already had it, but not as bad because my body isn't well enough to get sick.

I guess the good part is that I'm well enough to get really sick!

If I'm still running any temp tomorrow I'm planning on going to see my regular doctor.

Again, thank you for your prayers. Please continue to pray for me so that I will be able to attend the rest of the events.

I dont know if this can happen with Azith, but I developed drug fever from Rocephin.

You said the fever developed after you took the Azith, that's what makes me think of this.

Drug fever can be caused by certain antibiotics, and if I understand it right, it's a preliminary sort of allergic reaction. Talk to your doctor about this before taking it again.

You can also search for drug fever on a search engine.

Praying for you Faith, and I know God is watching over you!

Please say thank you to your son for us. We are so blessed by our service men and women!! Forever in their debt!

Thank you all! I made it to the Tuesday and Thursday events and got to see him off. I am so thankful!

I did call my regular doctor's office and talked to a nurse. She said I should probably come in but, since I live a ways away I could just go to the Target Clinic.

The nurse practitioner at Target said because I had been on abx strep wouldn't show up but should be taken care of with the Azith. She said I probably didn't want to know if it was Influenza because then I wouldn't want to be around people if I knew I had it. So we didn't do any testing.

I still am running a slight fever from time to time, but am able to function. If I'm still sick next week I'll call my LLMD.

Melodymaker-

I did have a fever before I took the Azith, but I'm wondering if it made my fever spike. I was on it many months last year and didn't notice anything like this.

Again, thank all of you for praying! It was so important for me to be there with my family for my son.
