A young man in his 30s in Mass was finally diagnosed with Lyme after much misdirection.
His doctor placed him on IV rocephin, which he had to stop,(due to pain in gall bladder area) then switched him to IV doxycycline.
He had developed chest pains and they are trying to figure out why. They've done an EKG and stress test, but since the clinic they were done at is not Lyme friendly, they may not be looking at the illness or meds causing this.
Have any of you developed chest pains while on the meds, and did they ever determine what was going on? The family is looking for possible avenues to pursue.

My first symptom before my lyme diagnosis was chest pain. At that time, they ran me through a whole string of heart tests, all the way down to a heart catherization.
In my particular case, they found nothing and thought treatment, I have had many attacks with chest pains.
Not knowing if it was a herx or something else, my LLMD has sent me to my PCP to have EKG's just to keep an eye on thing and so far, things still come back showing nothing.
With that said, I too am on IV and have had bouts as you discuss but no two patients are the same and you definitely want to get it checked out.
Generally I have found that if you just discuss chest pains, they will focus on heart immediately and lyme or anything else will have a huge back seat since most of them don't believe it anyway.
The heart they WILL need to take seriously. Good luck and hopefully this young man can get the testing he needs.
