Our daughter, Kristina, fell while out of the country on her honeymoon.

Dr. has just discovered a blood clot in her leg from the injury. (also probability of torn cartilage, but that will be dealt with later)

Please be in prayer that the medication will dissolve the clot...

...and that the compression stocking will keep it from breaking off and traveling to her lungs.

Thank you for joining us in prayer.

rita,

i'm SO sorry to hear this on your precious daughter and during her honeymoon of all times.

all of you are in my prayers now rita .....

i had a deep vein thrombosis blood clot either in my knee or lower leg after my hip replacement surgery 2 years ago.

have her do this:
**********************

fulltime ... have her bring her foot forward/backward like she was stepping on the gas driving a car; helps on the blood clot!

she should be doing this all the time! i got so used to the routine i'd even do it in my SLEEP without knowing it.

may god dissolve this for her soon so she may resume her honeymoon and her new life with her dear hubby.

fyi, my husband's dad worked for railroad; was in train accident & hurt his leg.

he too got a blood clot that went to his heart and took his life at age 50; so i know how serious this is also.

this happened before hubby's 1st marriage to the mother of his 2 living children.

he had a 3 yr. old daughter who died from small box shot 3 days after getting it.

my heart goes out to your entire family that the clot dissolves SOON!

best wishes on a positive outlook of this situation.....

Prayers for her are forthcoming.

Bless her heart.

I guess "in sickness and in health" will be put to the test sooner rather than later.

Not fair.

Hugs to you!

Thanks for the prayers.

I've had Lyme for so long, I don't know if being totally stressed out by these things is normal, or made worse because of the Lyme.

Either way, I guess it doesn't matter. I'm totally stressed by the fact that this clot could break off and go to her lungs.

Trusting in God. He got her this far, and after all, He knew her first, and she's His too. =)

Dear Melody, I am praying that God will bless your daughter Kristina. That He will touch and heal her body, comfort her, protect her, and draw her closer to Himself through this experience. I pray too that He will give her husband the strength to stand by her side during this difficult time.

What a honeymoon to remember! Please tell me that they are on a cruise and did not have to fly to get to this foreign country? And what did the doctor say about her traveling home, when will she be able to safely? Will she follow up with a doctor before she leaves? Sorry, lots of questions.

Oh, Melody, I will also keep you in my prayers. You are a good mom to trust in the Lord and put her care in His hands. I pray that He will comfort you too and give you peace.

Take care and please keep us updated.

Thanks for the prayers

This happened while they were on a cruise in Europe, so she did have more traveling, and then a long flight home.

Didn't get treated until she came back to U.S.

She's being treated with Plavix by the vein specialists.

My sister (nurse manager) who works at a hospital up North says they treat with heparin or lovenox.

Dr. says plavix below the knee, heparin above the knee.

So we're not sure she's getting the best treatment, but have no choice but to trust in the doctors. Sort of between a rock and a hard place.

And as all we Lyme patients know, trusting in a doctor can be very hazardous to our health.

I appreciate all your prayers and kindness, and we are trusting in God to make a way.

Blessings~ Rita

I've already slept 5 hours Betty, but it looks like you are just on your way to slumberland.

Yes I am worried, and Kris did call the Dr. back to ask about the lovenox or heparin, but you know how Drs get so offended if you question them.

So that's where we're at. Kris is waiting to see them again on monday.

Thanks for the prayers. Wishing you blessings.

Thanks for all the prayer.

So far Kris is OK, but we are very concerned they are treating with Plavix, when everywhere we read says heparin or lovenox.

Trusting in God to keep her safe through all this trial.

rita just sent me this update and away from home; can't remember her lymenet password, so asked if i'd post this for her .....

Dear Family and Friends,

Kris had another scan today, and the clot is in the same location. So at least it has not moved again.

The doctor will review the scan tomorrow, and Kris has another appointment with her next Wed.

It looks like we are continuing the same treatment until then, and we should hear something about the scan and blood work tomorrow.

We so much appreciate all your prayers and well wishes, and wish you all a blessed weekend!!

Many thanks to my Lymenet family for all your prayers.

The blood clot has extended from Kris' calf into her knee. She is now on Blood Thinners, and heading toward a theraputic level, but this takes time.

We are very thankful that she is doing well so far, and we are prayerful that these measures will be successful in keeping her safe while the clot resolves.

I will continue going back and forth (They are two hours away) until she is safe to be alone.

We so appreciate our Lymet family, and all your prayers, support and encouraging words. Heartfelt thanks to you all!!

Thank you all for your prayers.

I am happy to report that Kristina's doctor has said she can go back to work with some restrictions. She still has the blood clot, but is at less risk now.

She can't sit in a chair more than an hour at a time, and should keep her leg up as much as possible.

The blood thinners have done their job, and she will continue on the coumadin for three months.

Then they will scan the leg again to see if the blood clot has resolved.

I am back home and planning a good rest after all the driving back and forth (2 hrs each way).

So glad she is safer now though, although I won't rest easy until the clot is gone.

A heartfelt thank you to all my Lymenet family for standing with us in prayer during this trial. You guys are the best!!!!!

And a special thanks to Betty for posting when I couldn't. Love to you all!!

Thanks for all the prayers and please keep them coming.

Kris is having a scan today, as she is having a little difficulty breathing. Possibility that a clot may have gone to her lungs.

Also, her INR overshot to 5.5, should be between 2 and 3. So they're trying to get that down, and adjusting meds.

She has a desk job, but her company is very supportive and flexible, which is great. She can work from home some days too.

Trusting in God, and praying that she will get appropriate care. Dont' feel that is happening yet. Thanks everyone!!!

Blessings!! Kristina's scan was negative for a blood clot in her lungs.

The breathing problem may be due to not being able to take her allergy meds while on the Coumadin. so she'll address that.

Many thanks for all your prayers!!!!

Praise God! What a huge relief [Smile] Now you can breath easier too knowing that the clot has not moved again.

Hopefully her doctor can give her suggestions for allergy relief that won't interact with the Coumadin.

Take care Melody and God bless you!
