I started my 6 yr olds treatment about 3 weeks ago. I was worried he wouldn't be able to swallow the pills, but my biggest worry was about herxing.
Well, he is swallowing the pills(azythromycin & omnicef) like a champ. I do believe he's herxing (he had uncontrollable crying jag the other night and said he "couldn't stop") hip, ankle pain, occasional headache & nausea a few times.
But all in all, he's doing well. School is finishing up, he's testing for his orange belt in karate, he's happy most days & doesn't complain much.
Dr. J called the other day. Lab work all good & the best news? No co-infections! Just very positive for lyme, no surprise there.
Am glad that there are no co-infections to complicate his treatment. Hope on the horizon....

Songbird.....that's awesome.
I think we underestimate our little ones sometimes with our own fears.
My son is 6 and he's been able to swallow Fish oills for a year. Those fish pills are big mamas.
He even has an enlarged tonsil, but he does it.
Glad to hear things are responding and are cut and dry.
Plus, you're in good hands....yipeeee!
Get well.
Hugs to your little one-
