I find this very frustrating. We get screwed from every single direction. I've used a variety of generics that didn't do **** compared to the name brand drugs. My doctors told me "That's not possible, they're the same." No actually they're not the same *******, know how I know? Because my symptoms are getting worse (or I'm getting no results at all).
People are stupid sometimes, seriously.

The amazing thing is half the time, the FDA can't even be bothered with monitoring the effects of "known" new-to-market drugs--Vioxx,for example.
How many people had to have a cardiac event of some kind,or worse, before the drug was pulled for safety reasons.Merck was "kind" enough to buy any unused script back from me. (A "CYA" situation)...I was prescribed it to take the edge off some pain from fractured ribs.
Could something like that even make the headlines if Vioxx was also available as generic?

I don't have a choice. If it is available in generic the insurance company automatically send the generic to me. If that isn't incentive enough, the cost for a generic is $10 and the cost for a brand name is $65 (that's for three months) I'm on 12 meds. I can't afford my meds as it is, they are billed directly to my credit card. Talk about new to market drugs and side effects....how many people are told that lyrica can cause insomnia or that it is like smoking pot? You are told that it may cause weight gain (munchies), should be used with care in people with a history of substance abuse (duh)...oh well, I don't take it any more. Good riddance.
