I had my llmd appointment yesterday and left feeling very hopeful.

I was diagnosed back in April with fairly late stage lyme(undertreated three times years before) and was treated with doxy for 7 weeks by my GP.

I started seeing my lyme doc in July. Began with all kinds of tests, etc. and then started up with my protocol in late August.

I've been seeing him every three weeks and some of those times in between appointments have been pretty rough, especially in the first couple of months. The typical ups and downs of lyme.

Babs showed up, so that was addressed and Mepron/Art was added...along with many supplements/herbs along the way that he felt would benefit me.

For the past month or two I've been having some really good days....all in all, more good than bad.

At yesterday's visit, he told me he was quite pleased with my progress and would like to bump me to monthly visits as opposed to 3 week visits. Yay! [woohoo]

He also said that when I see him next month, we can discuss dropping down my daily zith/cef to MWF. [woohoo] Boy does my body like the sound of that.

So I am hopeful that I am getting closer to recovery/remission. Yet also nervous that it may be too soon and taking antibiotics MWF only could cause my symptoms to come creeping back in.

I guess my llmd knows what he's doing and will be watching for that.

To those of you who have gotten well and are in remission, did your llmd's gradually taper off like this? Did any of you need to go back on the daily/full dose?

Well, first you know how I feel about him. He does keep a close eye on everything and doesn't let things get beyond his control.

I can tell you of two (somewhat different) experiences.

Actually I just deleted what I said. I think it's too detailed. We can discuss via p.m. if you wish.

Suffice it to say, one person did well and moved along. The other is still struggling.

I fervently hope, topaz that you are one who does WELL!

It goes back to the old principle that we are all different and respond differently to treatment, and all those other factors.

Carly.

Thanks so much, Carly. I'd love to hear more. Please pm me.

I just took your phone number out and was going to call you today to discuss your dilemma/decision but the day got away from me...again!
