i just received a copy of a heierberg test that i have done late last year..its testing the level of stomach acid, some people said that this test could be to high acid in the stomach or to low, anyways, i just got a copy fax to my daughter's job,
and this dr NEVER PUT ME on the BETAINE HCL like the report suggested, i never had a copy before today, so instead i was on 6 of his supplements from in his office, last week i went into the office to let them know these supplement is not stopping my weight lost... the dr told them to tell me that because of my limited fundS,
he wouuld not be able to treat me any longer, i do not know if he knews that his secretary gave me a copy of the report...the report calls for 1.3 g tablet of betaine with 4 ounces of water, prior to eating a meal, follow by 2 to 3, 1.3 g betaine tablets during meals..larger meals may required increased amounts of betaine...
instead of putting me on this protocol, he took my money, and never told me according to the report, i should be taking betaine....i have low stomach acid, where my food is being dumped in the small intestine and out the bowel, all he aid to me on my second visit to get the results waas you have low stomach acid, and i am putting you on these,...yes.. a bunch of supplements from his office...
this is what the report reads also as the defination of low stomach acid, also it states, that there are two type of HYPOCHLORHYDRIA ..meaning lack of adequate hydrochloric (HCL) production in the stomach.
these two types are called obvious hypo and hidden hypo..and that is why i went to him complaining about my food coming out within my stool.
i was researching on the net, looking for a doctor that do the test that he performed on me last year when my problem started, and i found someone in another state that gave me this dr number in new york, to do this particular test.
the test required you to hold a machine on your stomach, for about an half an hour or 45 minutes, then you drink a pill and it reads all kind of stuff and gaves it report... nothing was mention to me about taking betaine.. but it said it in the report....
he had me taking supplements from his office ...i feel so used and abused, why do dr's and people in these professions do stuff like this....
this is so wrong, anyways, i started taking the betaine about a week and a half ago on my own...i paid out to this man almost 3 GRANDS...DEPRESSED ...
why do people live like this ....why do people feed off of deperate sick people ...i cannot trust or will i ever trust anymore of these people or anyone else even this llmd dr that i am now seeing...maybe i need to put ALL of these people on hole FOREVER.....im done

I thought apple cider vinegar helps get rid of yeast? I could be way off though- maybe someone else can help with that. I think I remember reading on a site that people use it to treat yeast.

Street-
Was this an MD or an alternative doc?? That just makes me mad. I know that not everybody is like this.
It sounds like this guy is only out for money and not the health of his patients. I would report him.
I hope that at least now you will get the help you need.

apple cider vinegar is good for this and will NOT be an issue as far as yeast is concerned.
Keep in mind low stomach acid also causes burning in the tummy and gastritis-just like too much acid would.

street - I'm with kidsgotlyme... I would report the sob!
I just had a heart ablation (for pvcs that were really bothering me) and I am 100% well! Since my procedure last night ... not the 1st pvc!!!
Reason I'm saying this, I've been going to a different cardiologist since 2004 (he jumped at the chance to do a heart cath which of course found nothing else wrong but rhythm irregularities).
He has strung me and Medicare along for 6 years and I was sick of it! Every time in his office was like a cattle call. And all they wanted to do was push pills!
They had down that I had high blood pressure - I didn't!!! My pulse rate was always below 50 and 110/60 is not a high bp! They tried to put me on cholestral drugs at 204!
I really want to give his office a what for, but.... Best thing is I will never go back!
And of course I never took anything he prescribed especially after I researched it!
These kind give the rest a bad name!

- A gluten free diet can help tremendously.
I did try the Betaine HCL thing and it was not until I kicked the gluten that my stomach started acting normally. It's sure worth a try.
As for the "Betaine HCL like the report suggested" - he might have thought there was a better way. That's not the only way to help digestion and some don't tolerate it very well. "The report" is not to be the final word - just a suggestion.
Betaine HCL is not a prescription medicine. It would not have been ordered as such. Backing up, if you still have those supplements, was Betaine HCL in any of them? It is a supplement and is often in a formula with other supplements. It often is less upsetting to the stomach when it is just part of a formula.

Also heard apple cider vinegar hates spirochetes, don't know if it's true but it won't hurt anyway. Gotta dilute it though. My mom said she was thinking of just taking her 1-2 tsps like a quick shot! Crazy, everyone says it will totally burn up your throat.

- I see at another thread, you have just been dx with gastritis, an inflammation of the GI tissue. With gastritis, it would be best to avoid all vinegar. Vinegar can irritate the GI lining and make gastritis worse. -
