I just discovered tonight that whenever my BG starts dropping when I am due for a meal, I get Lyme symptoms in addition to my "normal" hypo shakes!
Tonight I suddenly got weak and started to ache all over ... it dawned on me that it might be my BG before my dinner. I tested and sure enough I was getting "low".
Any other diabetics here that have this happen too?

- Yes, lyme patients tend to "feel" drops in blood sugar and it's hard to tell the difference in the cause of symptoms.
You may need to eat smaller, more frequent meals and increase the complex foods for glucose stability. You probably already do this but following a food plan that is low to moderate on the glycemic index is best.
It's far easier to prevent the drops than to recover from them. It can take a full day to feel better from a hypoglycemic attack.
Also keep in mind that some medicines alter insulin reactions - be sure to check on the meds you take in that regard.
Some herbs also lower blood sugar but, mostly, when high. Most herbs are also balanced in a formula or protocol. However, if there is a supplement that seems to trigger this, go back and read more from the professional literature about it.
My guess is that with meals and snacks more spread out that this can be managed. Nuts and tart apples may be a good sort of snack. Quinoa, too. -
