I am done trying to figure out what supplements I should be taking and so I so desperately need a structured path to follow (to much brain confusion) and so I decided to get all the supplements on the above list.
I ordered the transfer factor so that will be a few days but started all the others.
First, is there anyone else on here who is doing this, would love to hear about your experience. I can easily become confused so all these bottles taken at different times is a little out of my legue. They do not fit into a pill sorter so I was thinking of getting sandwich bags and marking them ie. on empty stomach take before breakfast etc.
Has someone found a great way to divvy up all these things.
Second, I would like to look up all these supplements and I am sure someone posted a good link to explanations on an awesome amount of vitamens.
I have done some searches but end up in all these wbsites trying to sell thier product with really not a very in-depth explantion of what they are supposed to do.
I plan on printing each desription and put it in a binder until my brain catches up with the information.
Third, magnesium - for some reason i am really afraid of this. I know you are not supposed to take it with meds but what about other supplements.
Fourth, milk thistle, would this be better to take before going to bed so it can work on the liver.
Ohh! so many questions, so sorry, I know some are like me and will just look at this and say way too much for me.
Thanks

A fabulous library backed with solid 3rd party citations for every article.
=============================
More specific to herbs and how they work in the body. GREAT BASIC BOOK just not about lyme (other than the page on Sarsaparilla). Graciously, much of the book is on line.
Just pop "MILK THISTLE" in the search bar and you'll have some answers: ----------
The One Earth Herbal Sourcebook (Tillotson, et.al.)
PubMed - Search for Medical Abstracts (for pharmaceuticals, herbals and other nutritional supplements). -

- Never fear magnesium. It is probably THE most important supplement of all. It's a life saver in a dozen ways, really.
Yes, you can take magnesium with other supplements. It should be taken several hours away from prescriptions, especially doxycycline. At least 2 times a day is good but 3 is better. One big dose is not at good at 2 divided ones.
Start slow and increase to bowel tolerance and then back down from that.
Once a day for milk thistle is not enough but, yes, a half-hour before bed is a good idea with a good glass of water.
It is best to never take anything less than 30 minutes before lying down and also to always take a good bit of water so it can be washed all the way down. -

GOOGLE SCHOLAR . . . for cross-reference checks that offer results with more text, somewhat limiting sites that mainly advertise products. -

FDA Group Issues Cautions on Acetaminophen Overdose Commonly Used Pain Drug Poses Serious Danger in Certain Cases, FDA Says
By DAN CHILDS and LAUREN COX ABC News Medical Unit May 28, 2009
Excerpt:
. . . "I was taking Tylenol like I was supposed to, by the label," he said. A few days later the then 37-year-old Benedi was in a coma and in desperate need of a liver transplant.
Benedi, like hundreds of Americans each year, experienced acute liver failure as a result of taking acetaminophen . . . .
. . . "Surprisingly, the only anti-chlamydial agent that did not cause hepatitis in some patients was NAC. In fact, NAC is recognized as being protective. . . .
. . . My conclusion is that NAC should be the first agent in an anti-chlamydial regimen and should be a constant part of the therapy for this protective effect, not to mention it's effect against elementary bodies.

- You asked for some research links. Hope these are what you had in mind. All those above should give you enough basic sources. You might want to copy and paste them all to a working file for you desktop.
I can't elaborate more on your particular questions right now but others will surely be along to do so.
If there is anyway you could find an ILADS-educated LL ND (naturopathic doctor) or LL L.Ac. (Acupuncturist) that would be very good, indeed, to guide you in all this. Your LLMD may know of someone as the LLMDs and LL NDs usually have good working relationships.
In the meantime, you might want to chart things out on a big blank piece of paper. Or, you may want to use a flash card technique. Get 3 or 4 different colors of paper and divide into categories: Rx; Non-herbal nutritional supplements; Herbal Supplements; Probiotics.
Mark on each, whether food is needed or not. Or notes such as: not too late in day or (as with some antibiotics: Stay upright for one hour.
You can arrange the cards out on the table like a game board and then transfer that to a smaller chart.
PROBIOTICS must be taken several hours from RX and also several hours away from herbal supplements.
VITAMINS are best in the middle of a good meal. Breakfast often does not provide enough food for the B-vitamins that so easily cause nausea on an empty or near empty stomach. Lunch is usually best for vitamins as, if taken with dinner, the B-vitamins may cause insomnia.
As a rule, with all supplements: start with just ONE a day. Give that a few days and increase (if directed) by just ONE more for a few days. And so on.
Try not to start two new supplements at the same time. You can also skip established ones on the days when you first try something new.
Good luck. -
