None of my kids use flouride toothpaste, flouride rinses, or get flouride at the dentist. Some of them get cavities, some do not get them at all. I'm not sold on the flouride bit.

- Fluoride is a neurotoxin. It can make any one feel anxiety, and just sort of like something is wrong (which it is) so it stresses the adrenals, raises excess (harmful) cortisol and triggers the flight or flight response and can even affect heart rhythm. Even a little bit can even trigger seizures in those susceptible. (It sure does for me.)
Other problems with most toothpastes and rinses: dyes, flavorings, alcohol, petroleum products and the leeching of BPA from plastic bottles.
A toothpaste that contains a little xylitol would be better. Xylitol helps teeth resists decay and also helps promote enamel strength. No rinse needed.
Swishing water is still good, or if it's a good toothpaste, a tiny bit with water to swish for a minute will work well, on top of brushing and flossing.
If a rinse is still desired, ONE drop of tea tree oil diluted in ONE cup of water is excellent - just keep swishing until it's gone. Tea Tree Oil usually comes in a tiny glass bottle. Avoid plastic. -

- I'd want to know more about poloxamer, but here's a start: -----------------------
Get relief from tooth sensitivity and canker sores with Tooth Builder Toothpaste. It contains 36% US birch xylitol, no SLS and is fluoride and salicylate free. Tooth Builder fights cavities and bad breath, stops most canker sores, and relieves tooth sensitivity . . . .

When I was about 16 I had a BAD REACTION to fluoride put on my teeth. It turned my lips inside out they were so swollen.
So I have eliminated all fluoride for a long time. I do believe it is a poison.
They put it in our water so they don't have to PAY to get rid of it. It is a by-product of some of the chemical companies.
I use NOW brand's Xylowhite toothpaste. My dentist has my chart marked in red so I do not get the fluoride. I usually mention it anyway, since each hygienist is different and they may not remember.

he's never had a cavity in his life..but i attributed that to good oral hygiene and regular dental visits.
i already worry about toxins hes exposed to.
what about that stuff that clings to the tartar on the teeth? the school has a hygienist come in and they give the kids those pink chewable tablets that clings to the tartar.
makes me wonder now what's in those tablets.
and tutu..you cant get away from it! guess you've got to be really on your toes.

I can remember as a child that everytime I had to swish that flouride in my mouth at the dentist's office I would get a HORRIBLE headache.
I begged my Mom to let me stop getting it. Finally when I was a teenager I told them I wasn't going to do it anymore.
From what I've read, it's not hard to keep your teeth in good shape as long as you take good take of them, floss, and use a good fluoride free toothpaste.
Tom's brand sells a mouthwash that is fluoride free. That's also the brand of toothpaste that I use.

- I forget that some states put fluoride in the water (I'm glad mine does not). A water filter can be a big help with that. It's good to get the chlorine out, too. -
