How about that Elaine!!! Great work!
Oh, since you are so special and are now on top of the 3rd page, can you please put the voting link on top in your post above so folks can find it easily? IF you don't mind?
I think 3rd by tomorow morning. It's a weekend and people forget because they are so busy.
Which reminds me to send a reminder to my email list.
No, ice cream cone but I sure would bet a Godiva dark chocolate bar !! Yum...

It's now at 5680 and I bet 3rd place soon today - I just took a picture of the computer screen!! I think that's the first time I've done that! Anyone else taking pictures of your screen?!
So, cool, two more Lyme cars coming along - spawned a whole family here...

Funny, I was JUST thinking last night, knowing that Paul Mall, he has PLAN B in place and is probably going to make another car just in case...if anyone manages to overtake us, we'll have a backup plan. With all the voters already in place, we could easily use the momentum already established to get Car #2 to rocket to the top if Car #1 were overtaken. I knew he'd think of this!
Sent this broadcast email (only the 3rd broadcast email I've ever sent, Tinny!) out to everyone at LymeFriends:
Lyme Friends A Social Network & Online Lyme Disease Support Group
Please take a SECOND to just click on this link, and vote on the racecar for Lyme Awareness by just clicking "VOTE." It couldn't be easier.
By doing so, you will be helping to spread Lyme Awareness and giving us a shot at having a REAL racecar made and raced in it's likeness! We are in historic FIFTH place this year, so this really means a lot; we are really in the running!
Most importantly, you can vote every day! I may get annoying like sending you a broadcast message every day, but it's rare that I do this and it's for the good of us all...so forgive me in advance!

Number one coming in Sunday - TC, better prepare your victory speech!!
I suggest everyone KEEP VOTING THROUGH MARCH 25, since cars can still be entered through March 20, with the same 15 days voting period through April 6.
So I don't think we should stop voting daily even though the car will be in first place.
This means everyone needs to be asked to continue voting, including through the big blasts on various sites - thank you, Tracy, Paul, other facebook helpers, we'll do it through CALDA too.
Also, Paul has a car he wants to run. See just above.

GOOD MORNING PIT CREW!!!
Looks like while I was running to town to get some oil filters and brake pads you all were running the others in the ground!
HOT diggity dawgs!!!
Can't stay to chat too long- but love all the work you all are doing to keep our Racing Lyme Disease Awareness Car pushing forward! You are amazing!
Shall I say it? Huh? Can we get to first place? Ya think?
The way you all are working on it, I think we do have a chance!!!
Elaine Geeeeeeeeeeee.. Looks like someone owes me an ice cream cone?
teehehehehehehe
Robin464983759- Amazing those pictures can be taken. I snapped a few along the way so when I get old (HA!) and my mind is not 100% (HA!) I'll at least have my memories of when we raced at NASCAR! Oh, the stories we can tell!
Tracy! Sounds great! Thanks for sending out the Broadcast thing!!! That should help us move forward at record speed!!! Much appreciated! Hey to the LymeFriends and a big thanks!
Three cheers for you and yours!
And... gotta say...
Pall Mall- nice car! Slick and sleek and colorful!!! I like it!
And a big thanks for helping us with this project! That is marvelous, simply marvelous!
Got a suggestion...
Rather than calling it your car and my car, because we are not competing with each other for votes in this case...
Maybe you can call the first car the Lyme Community Car ... for lack of a better name off the top of my head? And the second car ?? fill in the blank______.
Sorry I am not real creative this morning, but I am sure you can be, you've already proven that!
It would be nice if we could keep promoting this as an entire community working together toward one goal- to race Lyme Disease Awareness.
Big J!!! Thanks for the updates! We don't always have a chance to find the link and check numbers, but we can count on you for a good report! Marvelous!
Yes, marvelous is my new word for the day! HA!
Gotta run... it is time for the most famous words in motor sports....
Gentlemen.... START YOUR ENGINES!!!
Today's race is starting in a few minutes at Bristol- I believe on Fox channel.
Oh, OH, OH....
I was listening to the pre-race show earlier and the announcers were advertising this contest to MILLIONS of people watching.. so we should be seen by MANY MANY people, especially since we are now on the first page!!!!!
How exciting!!!!!
Thanks to you, we are accomplishing a goal rarely possible!!!!
Boggitty boggitty boggity... let's go racing boys!!!

Yes, this year's car is a beauty. And it's only around 100 votes away from ....
FIRST PLACE!!!
Tincup, Paul....WE ARE GOING TO MAKE IT!!!
But like Tincup said, we have to keep on voting and voting because we will need the largest possible margin to keep our 1st place spot, and to keep anyone from overtaking it once the voting is closed!

That is great!!! 2nd place!
With you all reporting it does save time!!!
And FYI- Kyle Busch just swept the weekend, winning yesterday and again today! He won all 3 races last fall (truck race wasn't in Bristol this weekend).
SO, he has 5 wins in a row at Bristol in 2 weekends!
He is special, but not as special as you guys are!
Imagine the group we've got here, with all our struggles... and we have pulled together to do this well to raise awareness.
AWESOME!!!
Now, follow the yellow brick road to first place!!!

Congratulations to the Lyme community and "After the Bite".

Now keeps those votes coming in so we stay on top and hopefully the judges will find the Lyme Awareness car and additional voting the Grand Prize Winner.
What a group. When you need people to come together the Lyme community does just that !!

Ice cream for everyone!! I suggest everyone who's voted throughout this time, go treat yourself today!!
Where's Tutu with her jumpin' Lyme cheerleaders???
Wow - all I can say is we are one motivated bunch!!
And thanks to TC for being a Nascar race enthusiast with the idea to do this!
I hope Dr J's site is getting hits and support.
Keep voting everyday to send this vote as high as it can go!!!
PS I decided I wanted to celebrate with a green drink - well, understandable after coming three days off of St Paddy's day -
so, since I live in a section of town called Little Saigon, I went into a Vietnamese place, looked at everything green, and selected a refreshing green mung bean drink, and it was delicious! Here's to the car and all of us!
PPS Where's the guest of honor? Hope TC didn't sleep through her most historic event!

I'm sure you already know but we have a HUGE HUGE HUGE support going for this car on Facebook. We have had count downs on how many more votes to move it up another notch.
It went moving fast today and great celebration to be in first, BUT BUT BUT...we ALL have to keep voting EVERY SINGLE DAY and have everyone we know do the same so we can keep this lead.
Such a wonderful way to keep Lyme Awareness out there in an event that is so huge. Keep the votes coming and our Facebook group is doing the same.
I don't know if you know...but another Lyme patient has a car in there too that was doing fairly well but with so many splitting votes I think most of us have all moved over to yours. Good luck.

1. I can't thank everyone enough for joining in to help race Lyme Disease Awareness. THANK YOU!!!
2. As others have said... we need to keep voting for the next 5 days to try to prevent other fast cars from overtaking us.

CONGRATULATIONS!
Your efforts made the Lyme Disease Awareness Race Car move into 1st place for the most number of votes on Sunday evening!
Our car is also now featured on the "Most Votes" page for everyone to see!
Thank you for voting and for spreading the word to help "race" Lyme disease awareness! (Don't quit voting now, please read on!)
Number of votes currently- 7,522 (voting open 5 more days)
2nd place car, number of votes- 6,891 (voting closed)
Number of times someone clicked on the Lyme Disease Awareness Race Car to get a close up view- 9,600 (+)
Approximate number of visitors to the website where our car is located (since we entered the contest)- 3,000,000 (Yes! 3 MILLION)
In 10 days over 1,500 people visited the website dedicated to Dr. Jones and the children with Lyme, due to the Lyme Disease Awareness Race Car efforts. That is wonderful!
More Details- (I am explaining as much as I can here/now because I won't be available to answer questions this week- sorry.)
Currently there are over 32,000 cars entered in the race. The dead line to enter a new car will have passed by the time you get this notice (midnight Sunday, March 20, 2011).
We currently have 5 more days left to vote on our race car (15 days alloted originally). We need to try to bring up the number of votes as high as possible.
It is important to keep voting each day because there are a number of cars with 1- 15 days left to get votes. Some of the race cars are closing on us quickly and could pass us once our voting period ends.
I will send a notice when the voting closes for our car with the results. At that time we will need to wait until April 6, 2011, when voting is closed for all cars, to see how we did in the final vote.
Hopefully few, if any, cars will get more votes than we have and pass us by.
More Details & Quotes From Official Rules
Then the official judging begins. The number of votes we have at the end of our 15 days counts toward 20% of the overall judging.
"The number of votes a Design gains during the Public Voting I Phase will go towards that Design's score in the Public Appeal category of the Judging Criteria as part of the Finalist Selection Phase, as listed below in Section 6(i)."
The other 80% of the judging process examines the actual design and is based on other factors. Needless to say, I am under a bit of pressure here now. Keep in mind I am not a professional race car designer, not even an amateur, but I did try to design our Racing Lyme Disease Awareness Car with the following categories in mind.
"Finalist Selection: During the Finalist Selection Phase, qualified judges selected by Sponsor in its sole discretion (the "Qualified Judges") will review and judge all Designs according to the following criteria (the "Judging Criteria"):
Originality of the Design when compared to other Designs (20%); Feasibility of the Design to be applied to a two-seater NASCAR show car (20%);
Creativity demonstrated by the application of user-uploaded images and/or pre-loaded Sponsafier graphics to the Design to the Design (20%);
Ability of the Design to inspire consumers (20%); and Public Appeal (20%). [YOUR votes]
Subject to the entrant's compliance with these Official Rules, the ten (10) entrants with the highest-scoring Designs will be deemed potential Finalist Prize winners and will advance to the Public Voting II Phase."
````````````````````````````````````````````
While they are judging all of the cars, we wait. (April 7-14th)
IF we happen to be selected to move forward, we will need to vote again!
That voting period is from April 22 to May 1 (Only 10 days).
I will send you an update if we are selected to move forward and need to put the petal to the metal and vote, vote, vote!
"Public Voting II: During the Public Voting II Phase, Finalist Designs will be posted for public voting on www.sponsafier.com.
Voters will be invited to vote for the Design that they believe has the most public appeal. The number of votes a Design gains during the Public Voting II Phase will go towards that Design's score in the Public Appeal category of the Judging Criteria as part of the Winner Determination Phase, as listed below in Section 6(iv). Limit: Each Voter may vote for only one (1) Design one (1) time per day during this time period."
`````````````````````````````````````````````
The next phase is "Winner Determination". It is based on the car with the highest-scoring design.
"Winner Determination: During the Winner Determination Phase, Qualified Judges will review and judge all Finalist Designs according to the Judging Criteria as listed above in Section 6(ii).
Subject to the entrant's compliance with these Official Rules, the entrant with the highest-scoring Design will be deemed the potential Grand Prize winner.
The top 10 entries receive prizes as follows.
ONE (1) GRAND PRIZE: The opportunity to have your design applied to a Toyota NASCAR Sprint Cup car; a NASCAR driver visit for the winner; and a prize pack consisting of Sponsor selected Toyota Racing Gear (size, type and style of gear selected by Sponsor in its sole discretion).
For the NASCAR driver experience: Details and schedule are to be mutually agreed upon by winner and Sponsor. NASCAR driver experience must be scheduled and agreed upon between Sponsor and winner by December 31, 2011 or will be forfeited in its entirety. Specific NASCAR driver based on winner's preference from those drivers featured on thewww.sponsafier.com site but determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion.
For Car Design: All terms set forth in Section 5 and Section 7 of these Official Rules apply to the winning Design. Sponsor, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to modify the winner's Design. Design will be featured at the 2011 NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race. Sponsor is not responsible if race is delayed, postponed or cancelled, in which event Sponsor may not feature the winner's Design. Approximate Retail Value ("ARV"): $10,000.
TEN (10) FINALIST PRIZES: A customized helmet featuring the Finalist's "Sponsafied" car graphics. Size of helmet and design/layout of graphics selected by Sponsor in its sole discretion. ARV: $1,250.

Robin.. hmm. maybe not so true about all of us being NASCAR fans.
The only car race I've ever watched was in the Disney Pixar's "Cars" movie. I couldn't care less about NASCAR as a thing or as an event, actually, and neither can most of the folks I am asking to vote.
BUT...I think Tin's idea to enter this contest, beginning last year, has been nothing short of brilliant:
-- a Lyme awareness event that does not ask disabled and/or financially exhausted Lymies to travel or to donate
-- that does not ask brain-challenged Lymies to focus for longer than a few minutes- the time it takes to vote
-- that can get even non-Lymeland folks excited-- everyone likes a contest, and having a chance to win one is even better
-- and most important of all, that is a national, very high visibility opportunity to reach many thousands of folks to raise awareness about Lyme, and about Dr. Jones.
Lyme activists nationwide would do well to beat the bushes for similar kinds of activities.

We need to get the word out to vote for both cars. Paul's car is now in 22nd place with over 850 votes and at least 10 or 15 in higher spots have already quit voting.
Our goal needs to be to get both cars in the top 5. And didn't I read that there was a 3rd car? Anyone have the link?

We had a full house tonite in Santa Rosa - maybe like 400-500 people - for Dr B plus 6 more LLMDs! Dr B had to talk very quickly to get through his presentation, then we had the panel who answered questions asked by the audience.
And around the entire room were the signs to vote for the car! Yes, we did initiate several new folks into voting for the car -
I was being a bit facetious when I called us all Nascar fans - I think TC knows more than the rest of us put together about the Nascar races.
But it's been a lot of fun for everyone to do, and that's what I meant about being fans this week!

Dilly,
I didn't see your post earlier. That is so nice of you to say. Glad that you think this is a worth while effort.
In my mind what makes it great is everyone participating for one good cause.
I told someone today if it were MY car and MY project, the car might end up with 15 votes at the end of 15 days.. IF I didn't forget to vote for it myself. And with Lyme, you know that could easily happen. HA!
So all votes over 15 are from those who care. That is what makes it so special!
````````````````````````````````````````````
Got some new (interesting) figures thanks to one of the race car fans in Maryland who is working hard to race awareness. Hey JG!
This is a 12 hour average, recorded today.
10:18 a.m. -- 7,998 Votes
10:18 p.m. -- 9,125 Votes
Total- 1,127 Votes in 12 Hours
About 94 votes per hour!
That means approximately (+/-) ...
2,200 people are voting for the race car per day.
Absolutely amazing!
````````````````````````````````````````````
Paul,
Another nice looking car. Your artistic efforts are WOW!

OOOPS! Almost forgot! The other Lyme car is at 1084! Don't forget to vote for it too!!!!

I must have been psychic as well when I found the Junior car. I was looking to see how many cars had lots of votes and I just thought "Let's see what is on page 300" -- and there was the other car. No I did not page thru 300 pages one at a time -- just typed in the number 300 and hit enter.

I agree with you. Can you imagine if all the Lyme cars came in the top 10. That would look a little strange and I'm sure the judges would be a bit suspect about it. We still have to go through the judges critique and more voting if the Lyme Awareness car is deemed worthy by the judges. So, having the most votes is not the end of it.
Tincup started this last year and none of us would have known about it, except for her creativity and knowledge about the contest. Also, all the promotion she has done to get the Lyme community involved in this race, it's just awesome.
I think we should work together and have Tincup's design be the car for the Lyme community. Also, the car being a tribute to Dr. J is truly deserving in itself.
I know others mean well but it just might be too many Lyme cars in the race.
Just my opinion
