We have a deep well. Water was tested about 5 years ago and he said our water was good, no filtration needed. Of course, I know there is a high mineral content in it. There is some sulphur in the water, too. It turns the shower curtain orange after a while.
Anyone else?

We have a well and a water conditioner for mineral content. But, we don't have a filter. So, we are drinking unfiltered well water.

I had my water tested after Lyme DX and we learned that it had some bacteria in it. We fixed the problem by bleaching our system twice and replacing our well cap, which seemed to be the problem. We had it tested again and everything looked A-Okay. I have been drinking it now for 2 months and all is well...

I get my drinking water from a client of mine who uses well water. They have theirs tested often and it is good water...so I fill up at their house.
I live in town and do not trust the city water...it has smelled like chlorine in the past and who knows what...if I have to use it I put it through a Britta, but I know that that isn't the best filter in the world either.
I rather use tested well water any day rather than city water or bottled stuff.

momindeep, I hear ya! It's been a while since ours was tested. May get a sample to the health unit next week.

Anyone know how often it should be tested? We have lived in this house for about two years and not had a well before. It was tested before we purchased the house,

Make sure you get a comprehensive list of what all is tested...there can be a lot of stuff in well water that isn't routinely tested for...

Splashi, we used
Analytical Balance Corporation 422 W Grove St # F, Middleborough, MA 02346 (508) 946-2225
For a more thorough analysis with heavy metals, it can cost $150 - $200. We did this for peace of mind.
I got on the website below first and somehow got a list of reputable labs in MA but can't remember how I did it now (Lyme brain )
