There may be a possible meeting with a head of the state health dept soon. Which studies should we present when he says "there is no evidence that LD persists in the body after treatment"? He's ID all the way.

And to the statement "there is no Lyme in #### state"? Of course, I can pull out the photo of the bullseye I took on a guy last fall but he'll probably say it's not a bulls eye.

And then, of course, we can be sure to use the proper wording of 'borrelia'.

Hope you are not in Oregon. That's one of the worst states for the lyme denial.

Wonder if this meeting is for yourself or family - to obtain treatment?

or for an organization you represent?

That might make a slight difference in the kind of materials you present.

CONTACT YOUR STATE VETERINARIANS. If dogs get it, it's there, even if a "different kind of tick" is declared not the same as one that bites people.

I think any tick can carry it and any tick can bite whatever creature they want. IMO.

Contact the top lyme organizations:

Tricky,

Attempting to get the health department to change their minds (once made up) and admit Lyme can persist and it exists in places they've said it doesn't will be almost impossible.

Their lips have been permanently sewn to the CDC/IDSA idiots butts for as long as I can remember. Unless they HAVE Lyme themselves and hold some power in that department, or it has badly affected one of their family members, they will not budge from their position.

IF they do admit it, for them to put that information to work for us to help the situation would be as close to a miracle as we will see in our life time.

I am thrilled you want to try, but please be warned they can be wicked, stubborn and even cruel. Don't take it personally if they laugh at you or insist you are wrong, or pat you on the head while they are pushing you out the door.

That said...

LymeInfo has files on persistence that may be what would help you, located here.

http://www.lymeinfo.net/lymefiles.html

Dr. C did a good paper about chronic Lyme existing.

https://sites.google.com/site/marylandlyme/chronic-lyme-disease/proof-chronic-lyme-exists

Of course my favorite thing to present is the Attorney General's findings on the IDSA investigation that states in part....

"The IDSA's 2006 Lyme disease guideline panel undercut its credibility by allowing individuals with financial interests -- in drug companies, Lyme disease diagnostic tests, patents and consulting arrangements with insurance companies -- to exclude divergent medical evidence and opinion."

That can be found here.

http://www.ct.gov/ag/cwp/view.asp?a=2795&q=414284

And one final paper, the Ember's study.

http://www.plosone.org/article/info%3Adoi%2F10.1371%2Fjournal.pone.0029914

Hope that helps! Good luck!

The IOM meeting with Lorraine Johnson.

Google: Lorraine+Johnson, IOM, lyme

I think it is absolutely vital to read what happened with that before your meeting. It will help to prepare you in so many ways.

Thank you for the information. It will be needed, though probably to deaf ears.
