Just out of curiosity, I'm wondering if anyone has an idea about this.
About 2 years ago (before Lyme suspected) my son was rubbing his arm and I asked him why he replied that he was rubbing a bump.
He said that he has has that bump for as long as he could remember.
Sure enough there was a tiny mark on his arm and a small bump under it. The bump felt like it went deep into his skin and it felt like there was something in it.
I had him watch a movie and put hot compresses on the bump for over and hour. Then I took a clean needle and gently scrapped off the thin surface skin and slowly eased a small black lump out of his arm.
Fast forward to recently when we were talking about the E.M. rash he had on his arm 7 years ago and it dawned on me that the "bump" and the E.M. rash were in the same location.
Any thoughts-could it have been part of the tick embedded in his arm for all that time?
We never saw a tick on him, but he was only 3 at the time and may have scratched it off leaving part behind.
He still has scar tissue un his arm at the spot.
Wondering if anyone else had bumps on the location of tick bites.
