What the article doesn't mention though is that even lactobacillus can overgrow.

I know Tutu. It is very hard to figure out which is the offender. Even more difficult is that I think all these things have to be in proper balance and how the heck do we do that?

Blows my mind that he believed in SIBO but not Candida. I don't understand that.

I've recently done 2 courses of abx for H. Pylori and can't say my gut is any better. It is now crystal clear that I have to be vigilant with diet and realize that it is not a quick fix but that it will take years. I have been having a very hard time with diet but I must find a way to buckle down.

This most recent problem with my gut may have started off bacterial but could very well now be fungal.

The diet with either would be the same so time to buckle down. Ugh.

Yeah, it was crazy that he doesn't believe in Candida "because I've never seen it".. (other than in the esophagus.. Duh) but he treated SIBO without even testing me for it.

I know there is a hydrogen breath test that can diagnose SIBO. It is not 100% but fairly accurate. It is just finding a hospital that has the capacity to test for it.

My gastroenterologist said they don't test for SIBO anymore. They just treat it. What a crock!

Yeah, they'll treat for SIBO based on clinical dx but Lyme doesn't exist and Candida can't travel beyond esophagus.

Ultimate stupidity.

He told me he's never seen it in a colonoscopy, therefore it doesn't exist. UH DUH.. I believe it lives in the small intestine.
