SORRY IN ADVANCE FOR LONG THREAD

I think it would be interesting to include a flash discussion for those who have stopped treatment and just accepted life as it is now. How do you live, get about, sleep, love, eat, pray, continue, etc.?

I will be the first to admit, I feared, I fought, I failed. Tried so many cures/possibilities/voodoo/woohoo and none worked. Most made me sicker as I faught. When they knocked me down, I got up again. I ate salt, scooped coconut oil, drank ACV, bought all of the pills, all the vitamins, all the flushes/cleansers/parasite killers/rife/saunas, abx, vitamins and minerals, ABX's, etc etc etc.

I've taken advice, given some and in the end, I am sick. Have accepted it will not get better than this in short run.

Sometimes, the only thing that gets me through the day is acceptance ....with a wee bit of hope that one day, when it's worth their investment, some drug company will find a cure that works across the board. I pray it is in my lifetime.

Until then, I salute you warriors who can keep going......and wish you godspeed.

Funny thing is, I'm not suicidal or depressed.....actually ACCEPTING has kept me more grounded than I've been in years. Maybe the prayers were answered in a way. ACCEPT being the answer?

Just thought a support thread for those of us who aren't looking for a fix anymore, just a place to go to talk about coping skills, goofy thoughts, good days etc... would clear out the medical and general support threads for those looking for answers directly?

Me? I just live another day, but don't fight anymore. Am I the only one?

I still pray, I still have friends and family who know how hard I've tried, who know I wouldn't give up if I could win, who love me just as I am.

Now, when I'm knocked down, I stay seated and wait for the pain or sickness to move/change each day. I don't stand up anymore to fight another day. I just live in the good moments and hope the bad ones pass quickly.

One hope I have is that someday, something real will be available for us all.....a vaccine that works.

I don't think we have room for another forum. You can post here in General.

If you get no feedback, then change your topic to tell about your acceptance (or whatever).

I wish you well and hope you are able to LIVE ON!! [Smile]

I "reported" your post so the owners, etc can check this out.

I think that's a good idea. Since there is no single cure and many/most people with chronic lyme don't seem to get cured, a discussion of how people are living with the disease is a great idea.

My sense is, some people who post in General Support have expressed exactly what you're describing,

that they have come to an acceptance, and whatever else they choose to do, like keep trying stuff, or take a break, or whatever.

I think what you're expressing here still belongs in General Support. I don't think it would be a good idea to keep breaking up into more and more forums.

I have a suggestion - did you know that all threads are archived? You can use the Search function at the top of the page, and type in any word or phrase, and archived threads will come up that you can click on.

You can also specify if you want to look in a particular section or just leave it as a general search, and then the site will comb through all sections for any that have the words or phrases you typed in.

So my suggestion is, if you would like to start a discussion thread on acceptance, that you title the heading very clearly

so that others in the future can find it and read through it and maybe add to it, as folks can always bring up older threads for further discussion here,

since we not only write for one another now, but also for those who may be coming here in the future.

I understand and appreciate all of your thoughts. I guess everyone wants a special flash for certain issues and understand it could become crazytown!

I did modify the header so at least others will know the subject. Thanks to all!

Peace and Acceptance (no matter what phase of the journey you are all on). :-)

This is a good solution, healthy, clearly titling the thread - you have a nice positive screen name, btw!

I recall when I was in pain groups, some folks there had gotten to the acceptance that you're talking about, and their days were easier for it.

Me, I was still kicking and fighting my way to find out what ailed me, and I didn't find out for a long time.
