This day ,I have a feeling,,is not going to go too well.
Knew for a week or two it was coming. Best friends wife was having headaches since August, I learned yesterday.
Month and a half ago started affecting her vision in one eye. Saw eye doc,,,then they sent on to other specialists.
Found a brain tumor and it obviously is growing fast since vision in other eye is affected now in last week or so.
TODAY Sandy and Jon are at the hospital in my fair city undergoing surgery for its removal,,,hopefully.
Cant imagine it isnt cancerous given its fast nature.
Friend here said his mother-in-law had same,,,lasted about a month.
Has anyone known of similar where outcome ha been favorable???
They have 2 little kids that needs their mom,,think she is only about 35-40 years old,,

Prayers that this mom of two young children and a wife will have a successful surgery with no complications.
God's will be done.
It really depends on the type of tumor etc..
I worked with a girl who had surgery on her brain for a tumor causing neurological problems. They believed it to be cancerous and not much hope was given.
That was years ago. It turned out NOT to be cancerous and she had only minimal residual effects that were temporary.
Another girl's husband had a brain tumor that WAS cancerous. They gave him six months.
She took him to the University of Pittsburgh Brain cancer center. Ten years later, yes ten years later, he had a recurrence, treated there again.
Since I have very little contact with the outside world, I don't know his current condition but I haven't seen his obit.
Prayers will continue.

Father, in Your infinite wisdom not one thing happens on earth that hasn't been sifted through Your hands.
I beseech You, Lord to bring Your kingdom in heaven here on earth to this woman. Let her through this tragedy come to know You intimately.
Heal her and guard the hearts of her children.

I've been praying for her too. I'd love to hear an update when you get one Just Don.
I know that there are many different types of brain tumors but if you want a story of hope, I had a coworker with very similar symptoms, horrible migraine like headaches, nausea, and vision loss. She ended up also having a large brain tumor that needed urgent surgery.
Her surgery was difficult but she did well with it. She was in the ICU for awhile (a couple weeks if I remember correctly) afterwards recovering. Thankfully she was well enough to have visitors. We were allowed to go see her one at a time along with a family member.
She finished recovering at home and chose not to return to work. After going through what she did, she wanted to spend as much time as possible at home with her children.
This past fall I was happy to hear that she she has started a new job (as an RN yay!) now that her last daughter has gone away to college. I've lost touch with her but heard that she is doing really well.

Hubby has a cousin that had headaches a lot as a teenager. She missed lots of school but nothing was ever found.
Probably 10 or 15 years later she was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. That was probably 8 or 10 years ago.
Hers is noncancerous. She does have vision problems and headaches and I am not sure what other problems. But since the diagnosis she has had a baby who is 5 I think now and she is raising the child as a single mother.
She had a shunt put in and does take some meds. But it always amazed us that she really is much more functional than Steve was in many ways.
I think she is either late 30's or early 40's now.
Hope your friend has a miraculous recovery.

Sending prayers their way for safe and thorough removal of a benign tumor.
I don't think the growth of the tumor is related to malignancy, but that is just my thought and experience with others having tumors in other places.

I know a few people who used that Gamma Knife for brain tumors. It's a combination of low impact lasers that converge on a point in the brain when surgery isn't doable.
It's been very successful. I know someone who was back to himself in about 6 months after have a brain tumor operation in this way.

Update good news,,,,Sandy was sent home already today.
from surgery Friday and that first night in ICU wasnt too good.
The doc 'thinks' it probably isnt cancer,,,still pending pathology tests results in a couple days
She must be feeling okay,eating okay, no headaches,,,cant ask for better than that

Praying for this young mom.
I know a young man who went through similar situation. Although they went in do to "BRAIN TUMOR' it wasn't the issue and shortly after found out it was Lyme all along.
Go figure.......Now he's just getting by on drops etc. No money..
I pray she is able to have a quick and full recovery. Lord move your mighty hands of healing when these doctors are working on her.
