I had my appointment with the vascular surgeon last week and he said everything looks great from the aneurysm surgery in 2011. Because things look so good I don't have to have a full contrast CT scan (which carries possible problems for the kidneys) but I can just have an ultra sound [Cool] !

Now not so good report. I went in to the clinic on the 15th of July and reported that I was still having a problem with my ankle and I gave my list of meds to be refilled to my doctor's nurse.

She told me that the x-ray revealed a problem and that the doc would set me up with a consult with the Ortho department at the hospital.

There is still no record of him requesting a consult with Ortho for me - which I have written a letter to the Patient Advocate and will deliver this week when I go to the hospital for a visit with the Gastro doc.

Also, after I visited with the vascular doc Silver and I went down to the pharmacy at the hospital to check when my meds were mailed out (8 days had passed). The tech looked up my records and the nurse had not called them in! [Mad]

This also went into my letter to the PA. The pharmacy did refill my prescriptions but this is a little unsettling as you can imagine.

One step fwd, 1 1/2 backwards for the VA.

Hi <<<<< Lymetoo, n' Lyme Family >>>>>,

We are very relieved that The CT scan came out so well. It is hard not knowing, and we had concerns about the aneurism surgery holding. Kidney health was also a concern.

We have both been wondering,as TxC's ankle heals ,is it healing properly ???!! Hard to say until they get him that appt. set up w/ Ortho'.

Pretty much sure that TxC' has LD' and Bart, perhaps more?? But Vet's Admin' doesn't treat LD.

One 'VA' Dr. literally walked out on us,a couple years back because TxCoord asked about LD and possible treatment. That Dr. literally refused to discuss it.

The prayer support is greatly appreciated, TxC' has had to spend way more time than he wants in his wheelchair. This time w/ Vascular appt.the Dr. wanted to know, why TxC' was still using the wheelchair.

The ankle situation was explained, and now it is a wait and see 'til they get the Ortho' appt. set up. Another letter off to the patient advocate.

We are both trying to keep our chins up, sometimes the wait, wait and wait some more is difficult for both of us.

Don't know what we'd do w/o Lymenet, and the dear Church we found close by us!! Y'all understand, when there just aren't any doctors or finances to help treat the LD and various problems.

And the Church folk are encouragers, such a lively caring group!!! There's a wide variety of people, ages, ethnicity and so on. And there are many w/ disabilities, so they try to be helpful and understanding!!!

I'm off for now, TxC' is making dinner...Yummy!!! [Smile]

I went for Lyme blood work yesterday - now get that BLOOD work. The receptionist announces loudly "YOUR doctor ordered a spinal tap, we don't do that here"!!

So my doctor wrote the wrong code...I had the rest of my blood work done, but will probably have to go back.

I am just commiserating with you - yours sounds worse than my minor aggravation. I wouldn't want a spinal tap on my worse day !!!

I am glad you found a church. Sorry about the VA...God does hear our prayers !! I will keep praying the VA gets moving with your requests..

Thanks so much for the prayers. We both appreciate them a lot. Church is good and we are starting to make friends there.

Talked with the GI doc yesterday and he wants to do unspeakable things to me! I even offered him a bribe not to do unspeakable things, but alas, he was insistent.

I did talk with the patent advocate and he put the receptionist on speaker phone for what I thought was Ortho only to find out when I got home that it is for podiatry! We'll see.

Could prove to be an interesting couple months for sure!

Hi there <<<<< Lymetoo and Dogsandcats >>>>>,

Now of course the 'unspeakable things' the Dr. is going to have done is a colonoscopy. TxCoord is trying to be brave!

We are still puzzled about Podiatrist vs. Ortho' consult...guess we'll find out when the apt. time actually gets here... sigh.

I find myself wishing all of our Apts. could be scheduled in the afternoon. We are each others Caregiver, and with VA medical procedures I'm supposed to be there for TxC's Colonoscopy.

My ornery system doesn't function very well in the A.M. I'm glad to be able to help out and such...just wishing my system would behave better.

Hopefully, when we can get more supplements it will settle down. I tend to feel like a prisoner of the 'restroom' in the mornings[hope that's not TMI].

We have a few weeks before TxC's procedure so I am hoping some issues will resolve or at least lessen.

We have a couple other appts.[hmm ...is it apts. or appts. for appointments abbreviation?]we have a bit more control over the other appt. times.

Jus' Silverwolfi checkin' in...
