I haven't been posting much lately.
Good news is the kids are doing better than they've been doing in a long time (knocking on wood and thanking God). As for me, well that's a story for another day.
I'm wondering what you all think of this. In my area there's an organization that helps women deal with breast/ovarian cancer. It's a wonderful grassroots organization. I know the founder and she is a lovely woman. I also know a couple of the women who've been honored by the organization and hubby and I have attended their events in past years.
This year one of the honorees is an acquaintance of mine. She's invited me to attend and I'm sure hubby will receive an invite from one of his friends whose wife passed from BC.
I have no interest in attending. I'm just really done with attending "C" events. I just find these events very depressing.
But mostly there's that ever-present question of "hey does anyone here know anything about Chronic Lyme???"

I hear ya, beaches. I would be sitting there too and wondering why Lyme gets shoved under the carpet. It's really hard to take.
So .. go if you have to. If you stay home, don't feel guilty!
So glad to hear that your kids are better! Now keep working on YOU!

It's great to hear from you.
I would be having a hard time with going to that event too.
IMO you should do what's best for you.
Great news about the kids!
Take care and let us know what you decide.

Stay home if you feel like it. Nothing makes me feel worse than putting up with crowds, noise, constant chatter. And c events would be soo depressing.
At least for me.

Hi guys and thanks for all the advice! Hope and pray you're all doing OK. Sorry I haven't been keeping up much.
The event isn't for awhile so I have time. It is a nice evening out (and who doesn't need that?) and I will know a few in attendance.
I think I'll just wait and see how it goes. Do you think if I went it would be tacky to wear earplugs during the speeches?
As for my kids, we still have a ways to go. But (knocking on wood again) the worst of it is behind us.
