I'm sure *I* would react that way. I avoid vaccines like the plague.
Hope he's feeling better very soon!
How are you doing, randi?

OH, that's just great! No wonder they ask me all the time if I'd had a tetanus shot. They are pushing that &^%$ on everyone!

How sneaky are they you wonder?...went to get a tetanus shot and waiting for the shot nurse they give me a "form" to sign...and I ask, "What's this for?"...The nurse was very vague in her reply so I read the form and it was a release form giving my permission to get the whooping cough vaccine with the tetanus!
I, like probably most people, thought it was a form for the tetanus shot...why would I or anyone else think differently?
I raised a stink...told them I need only the tetanus...would not accept whooping cough vaccine so they call my doctor in to give me the talk.
Walked out...end of story.

- momindeep,
Good for you (assuming, though that you didn't just cut yourself or scrap yourself in some soil or dust - then you would need a tetanus shot if you've not had one in ten years -- but check on that date).
A tetanus combo shot decades ago was the first trigger for seizures - and so many other problems.
Decades ago, I had a new puppy who was out of doors a lot and scratched me so a tetanus booster seemed a good idea at that time. But it was not the only ingredient, of course. I was told I must have been allergic to the "horse serum" but no mention of all the other possibilities.
There may be a way to figure out how to get that separate - if you need it right away for a wound. Other ways to figure out protection against tetanus as it is important to know since it can move so fast. But if you aren't likely to be scratched, playing in soil, etc. you may have some time to study that.
Turning the tables on them, here's a form here for your doctor to sign as well, for general vaccine inquisitions - also good for everyone to have this detail:
VACCINE LINKS set - Ingredients in Vaccines -

Yup, Keebler...I know that I will need that tetanus shot eventually because of the line of work I am in.
It was such a pisser to me how they were trying to pull the wool over my eyes...and when I busted them on it, I became the one in the wrong for not accepting their deceitfulness.

Homeopathic Hypericum is preventative for tetanus... I would take a dose at first indication for potential need of the Tetanus Shot, and then if symptoms appear (lockjaw is another name for Tetanus), I'd take more homeopathy.
I had a bad reaction to a tetanus shot (as far as I know, it only had tetanus, not pertussis or anything else in it) and have listed it on my allergy list, so the doctors don't push me on it anymore.
