All of the KdA's state "absent". Every one. Now that is contradictory from her test from '06. 39 and 41 were "indeterminate" but now "absent" (presto chango!)

10 years ago 58 was "positive" now "absent".

10 years ago 34 was "positive" but they didn't test it this time.

So understanding that 10 years ago was Igenix and now is LabCorp.

So what does "absent" mean? Please - no url's! I've already looked and no one has a definition of what "absent" means - just abstract.

So what we need is specifically what does "absent" mean? Does it mean there is no Bb at all?

Inquiring minds want to know.

You can test positive for a specific band one day, and negative the next - or visa versa.

Geez, I tested negative for a band in one lab, and on the SAME day, tested positive for the same band in a different lab.

Absent would seem to be nothing to see on the band at all, I would think, as in result: absent - meaning no result.

or it could be they did not test that particular band?

Call the lab and ask them directly. That seems the only way you'll know. Talk to the lab manager's office.

Re: "absent" . . . "Does it mean there is no Bb at all?"

No. Absolutely not.

It may be they did not detect any and - for that test - they can say there is none but that does mean a more sensitive test might detect it and

does not mean there might not be Bb in the patient. Things to consider:

Of course, in the 10 years since first test, any kinds of treatment may also alter the test results as well as put someone back together again. Although, I take it that treatment has not been available (or consistent) as is the case so very often for so many for access reasons

so, if that's that case, the tests also may not show because the body just can't put up any kind of response anymore to show on some tests.

The lab is likely still open if it's in your region. Maybe you can talk to them today. Or maybe their website could clarify the language.

Absent .. nothing showed up for that band.

Lab Corp is not known for their careful attention to details, I don't think!

But yes, one day can show one thing, another day something else.

Silverwolfi here, thanks to <<<<< Each Replier >>>>>,

And re-reading the Seronegative LD reasons was very helpful, I am fighting yet another infection right now.

So the last two tests,I've either been on ABX, or dicovering I have an infection. Lately it has been bladder infection ,that doesn't seem to want to leave.

I got some D-mannose, to try, hoping it will help.

Sorry youre going thu this silver.

I agree labcore is not great. When i was being treated by famous llmd many years ago he would send the same blood draw to 3 different labs each time. Results were never the same. I think this was part of research about lyme testing being unreliable

So i dont really think the results matter

I hope you get rid of the bladder infection soon and start to feel better

Hi <<<<< Lymetoo, and 'kayak >>>>>,

Thanks for the replies, had a bit of a restless night, and it was windy all night here.

Hoping that the generic Macrobid will kick the bladder infection to the curb permanently.

We had to e-mail the LabCorp headquarters, and are still waiting for answers. We'll see if we get an answer this time. They send out tests for Lyme[to Texas],so asking the local Lab for info is useless.

I am halfway thru the ABX, not sure if much has changed yet, it's weird, I have sinusitis and it seems that it frequently affects my Urinary tract.

I was checking various info' some years back, and found out that our sinus tissues, and Urinary tract tissues, are pretty much the same sort of tissue, so every time I get a cold/allergy/sinus attack, or HIT problem, it seems it is hitting the UT area?.

So I emailed LC and asked what they meant by "absent" on the 25th. Only thing I got was a "please contact me if you have further questions" and a bunch of blah-blah stating contact your doctor for the results.

I emailed this morning and said all I wanted to know was what their terminology for "absent" was.

Got the same exact message again!

I'm calling the big kahuna in Texas tomorrow. The people running the show are evidencing nothing more than robotic replies.

Why can't they just say "nothing showed up?" They can at least clarify the word "absent."

Silver... I hope the pain lets up soon and you will be on the road to recovery.

Believe it or not, I got the same generic reply again this morning! I would use her name but I know that isn't proper, but could it be I am just talking to a computer?!?!?!?

So I called and left a message for the big kahuna down in Texas.

Stay tuned!

Hi there <<<<< Lymetoo,and Various Repliers >>>>>,

The Biggy at the TX Labcorp facility finally got back to us. Labcorp now uses "Absent" to mean negative. Why they couldn't say that w/o 3 e-mails,and a phone call back and forth....who knows?!

I'm feeling a little better, but still really worn out from the ABX, the pain isn't quite as bad, tho' it seems to be spasming somewhat still, lower back and mid low abdomen.

Hoping the darn infection is finally gone, and it is just the ornery IC issues. I do like the D-mannose,it seems to be helping!

Hi there <<<<< Lymetoo, and other Lyme Family Repliers >>>>>,

It is good to know, finally what they meant by absent.

Now if I can get the UT/IC,lungs and sinuses, all to behave maybe I might could almost feel sorta human [ at least for a 'wolfi' type person tee hee].
