Happy Spring day and Easter week!

Tutu--glad you sing in the choir. I can never stay on key and would sound like a howling dog.

AK--Hope the divorce papers you see on Th pass muster (and have a lot of alimony $). I imagine this is very tough.

I walked 27 minutes with my trekking poles.

LP--I am excited to hear how you like your new trekking poles.

Weeded out a few more dandelions, but the winds really picked up this afternoon, so I decided that laundry and reading was a better option.

Sadly my 2 year old serviceberry tree does not look good and the 1 year old redbud is not looking great, either. I hope they will survive.

Hope your week is warm and brings you joy. [Smile]

Thanks for starting the thread, hiker!

I'm doing fine .. just busy. Took a quick nap today and then went to the show this evening.

I only recently figured out what "serviceberry" trees were, hiker. They grow wild here and I always wondered what they were called. We probably have them in East Texas, but I had never really known what they were called. They are very pretty and I hope your trees make it!

(Redbuds grow wild here too)

Hope everyone else is OK!!

Well I can't sleep. All meds are in. So I tried to balance my checkbook. That usually makes me bored enough to fall asleep. But not this time

Hiker...so many big trees that should be green are yellow here. And some of my baby trees...still hard to believe some are 6 feet! But some of them have a few yellow needles but not a lot. Hiker did you have a drought like we did?

I hope all our trees are ok

Today was really beautiful here. First day to hit 70 and its supposed to last all week

I had saved outside stuff to do today. I paced myself and rested and talked to my brothers inbetwee n tasks

I finally walked the perimeter with Etta and picked up all the recycling that blew out of the container a few weeks ago.

I pained and aired out the new chair a few times

I poly ed 4 pieces of baseboard that I think will get put back Wed

I pruned the shrubs and grasses in the front bed

So Etta had a good time and I got a lot done

I talked to my brother from Alaska for over an hour and for the second time he didn't sound like he was drinking. Its so wonderful to talk to him like this. He's the one who is 60.retired from coast guard and town and raising his 3 yo grand child

And I talked to my brother who had the shoulder surgery gone wrong for a yr....he's in so much pain from a hip that needs to be replaced he might have to go on disability

He's such a hard worker and such a sweetheart. He's really going thru a lot

Its two a.m. i give up. I have to take the dilaudid

Tomorrow I use the trekking poles at PT

Ak--Where are you?

Graded a lot of papers today. Still irked when kids don't turn them in on time and the ones I graded today were in class only assignments, so no excuse for not having them done. They had plenty of time.

I probably should get out for a short walk but it is very windy and thunderstorms all around although not raining here, yet.

Satellite TV is out which means there is severe weather in the area.

So, off to make a salad, cook zuchhini, and a chicken breast for dinner.

Kayak .. I hope tomorrow is a better day for you...and here's hoping for the CHAIR!! [Smile]

Hiker .. I agree. It always irked me when papers were not turned in. For some, it must be a form of rebellion.

Hubby's second show opens tomorrow and I have a few free tickets. Our pastor is going and I hope one of my friends can make it. Hubby just got a message that another show wants his contact info for subbing. It's one of my favorite shows, too! I'm so proud of him!

Sunday-Thanks Hiker for getting us going this week. I did some yard work again but heart rate went up while raking and felt nauseous so called it a day.

Today I did my ab and lower body DVDs! Not doing the bun one yet because its advanced. I'm so proud of myself!

Made brunch, did dishes, two loads of laundry, errands and cut two rubber mats for the side door steps.

Hiker-I'm hoping I can do some cardio soon. Will wait until my appt with my cardio doc on the 24th. I think I'm gaining weight!

TuTu-Congrats on your hubs getting the great sub position. I bet you can't wait to hear him play.

Kayak-I've had to take meds the past two nights. Hope I can get off them tonight. Your poor brothers! Addiction problems effect the whole family don't they? Glad you had a good conversation with him. Your other brother's shoulder is still messed up? What happened?

Well.....off to watch my movie!

Kayak--How did PT go with the trekking poles? What's the status on the chair?

AK--Seems like you did quite a bit yesterday. I don't know how you stay up so late to watch a movie. By 9:00 I am heading towards my pillow.

Walked 27 minutes after school today. Needed to vent out some anger from administration at work.

Stopped by church to sign up for the Vigil at the Cross Thursday evening.

Time for baked salmon and asparagus.

Very good, AK! I was worried since you didn't show up yesterday. Hubby didn't get the sub position. It was for Friday and he has to play for church. (Good Friday)

I went to the show today and it was really good. I got to say hi to the stars and they all raved on hubby. Good to hear! Our Pastor came and two other friends from choir.

We went out to eat just now and I'm pooped. Poor hubby is off to another show. He's going to be really exhausted by the time he comes home.

Hiker .. Hope you enjoyed your salmon! I remember the Vigil at the Cross. Sounds really nice.

I think I'm reacting to one of my supplements. It's going to be hard to figure this out!

Hikers t storms are on the way here...I bright chair inside and hard to believe I was able to get the2 parts together

Its very comfy. Etta was so happy. It does smell like wood smoke but Idk if that will bother me.

I had to keep working all day to be ready for guy coming tomorrow to hopefully finish kitchen

Most furniture is out of the way

I'm crashed in bed now. Hope I sleep early. I need to get up at 6(I never do that!) to clean andpoly last baseboard for the guy. I hope it isn't too wet...but I do have carport

The PT said I was a natural with trekking poles and she showed me how to use one and said it would be better for my balance. I think I will do it like that when I can because it will make it easier with Etta

I sold the new chair I couldn't tolerate. Hope the lady is happy.. She seemed to be. She got a good deal

Someone is interested in a small chest I bought that is too complicated for me to put together. Id send it back but the box was ruined...it got here 3 weeks late after all the Midwest storms. The box was wrapped in plastic but still wet and fell apart when I emptied it

She is coming from 3 hrs away...way up maine(i think In supposed to say down maine...but its closer to Canada

I keep losing weight even tho I'm eating the same. I am more active than before surgery but why has it taken 2 months for that to matter? I'm happy. Just pray its not cancer back somewhere else. I have to force myself to wear clothes that fit. I look just as big cuz I'm wearing clothes that are huge

Good to hear your able to work out an

Tutu you have lots of goid news. Yay!!!

Didn't get much sleep last night but worker is slower than me today but its getting done

Rain on the way.

First thing he did is fix my bike so pedals are closer and my knee bends more to make PT happy

I'm sitting in carport with Etta so we don't get wet. I see my scotch pine need to be pruned so they will fill in and also not have branches on the ground

There's leaves in there to clean out too even tho I paid for them to be picked up at end of fall. I'm at the south end of street with 3/4 of yard fenced in. We mostly get north wind so the whole neighborhoods leaves and trash blows in my yard and the fences Catch it

Hope your feeling better today a k

Caught my breath so back to poly ing trim

Wednesday-Kayak we have the same problem with our fence being a trash catcher.

Did my ab and lower body DVDs.

Still down in the dumps. Time to breakout that huge Norman Mailer novel I bought.

My yard has a fence and is a fence catcher as well.

Ak--sorry you are down in the dumps. Proud that you did some exercise, though.

I went to energy healer after work. Worked on distressing and on nervous system.

Mom has a fracture in her spine and Dad needs hernia surgery again. My parents are falling apart. [Eek!]

Work has been very stressful.

No exercise today, but hope to get back in the routine tomorrow or when the rain moves out.

AK .. Sure hope your mood picks up soon. Life can be so hard!! Good job on the exercise!

I've been missing exercise lately .. too many places to be all at once.

I plan to exercise tomorrow, then go out to eat with Bible study friends and then with the group to see "The Case for Christ." To do that, I will be skipping Maundy Thursday services for the first time in years and years.

Kayak .. Hope the chair is going OK for you!!!

hiker .. So sorry to hear about your parents. It's so hard to see them go downhill. I can relate. [Frown]

I'm exhausted after going to PT this morning, then to the city for acupuncture. I also went out to buy plants. One little problem: I haven't planted the four that I bought last month!!

I hope to do a few each day. I worry about aggravating my shoulders. Ouchy.

I took pics of beautiful pink dogwoods and other blooming bushes and trees today. They are all so gorgeous.

Planted snap peas and hull peas in the garden last night. Got too dark to plant anything else. Want to get more things planted after I get home from work today.

Yum, MannaMe--I love snap peas, but I never plant them. I never get my garden started until midMay.

What kind of work do you do, Manna? (outside of the home)

Back after work. Loading myself with caffeine this morning to get through the day. Kids doing a creative project, so it's a fun day, but tiring.

Walked 28 minutes after work today. Sunny and warm.

Will skip the foot washing service tonight at church but take my turn at the Vigil for the Cross. So quiet and peaceful for that.

I have tomorrow off work, so am looking forward to a lazier day.

hiker, I'm a cook.

Got the lettuce & spinach planted and carrots & beets. Tried yellow beets and red this year. Want to go out again and plant onions and sugar peas.

Maybe we can plant the potatoes that are sprouted and see if they can survive any frost.

Its been cooler today and somewhat cloudy. Supposed to be sunny and warmer tomorrow.

I have a tradition of writing a poem while I sit at the vigil of the cross. Here is the one I wrote tonight. 4/13/17

When You Died for Me

When You hung on the cross
Tear drops falling
My hands lifted to heaven.
When You died for me.

When You hung on the cross
Light pierced my darkness.
And the sun (Son) shone in my soul.
When You died for me.

When You hung on the cross
Hope sprang in my heart.
And healing flowed through my bones.
When You died for me.

When You hung on the cross
Grace clung to my spirit
And mercy left me repentant
When You died for me.

Hiker .. I love your poems. You are very gifted! I do hope you will be able to get them published when you retire!

manna .. peas sound wonderful!!

I managed to plant a few flowers today. I got a bit overheated, but was able to cool down in time to go to dinner and to a movie with the Bible study group.

We saw "The Case for Christ".. It was excellent! I really loved it!!

I hope AK and kayak are OK.

Oops, a day behind...

Thursday-Did ab and lower body DVDs. Went to gym for the first time and walked flat at 2.5 mph for 45 minutes. Yay!

Then went to attorney's office and signed divorce papers and Robert went later and signed also. Now just waiting for court date and everything to be finalized.

Friday-Did my DVDs and another 45 minutes on the treadmill at the gym. Later will attempt to change light switch on ceiling fan. Oh joy!

Hiker-Oh no your poor Mom! I hope she's not in too much pain. And your poor Dad! Hope he has surgery soon. BTW, I loved your poem. I enjoy going to poetry readings myself and missed one this week at the library. Time for me to venture out to the museum, library and maybe take some drawing classes.

TuTu-I'm busting butt on my exercises to fight stress and a little depression. This is my second divorce and it's hard to adjust to being single again. I know this is the right thing to do so there is some comfort in that. Also kudos on getting some flowers planted. I've been behind this year in my potting.

Manna-You must have a good sized garden. That's a lot of work. Down here in the south purple hull peas are favored and I like them too. Even though they look similar to black eyes they taste completely different.

Well....off to tackle that light switch!

Wore myself out today. Ran some errands including grocery shopping.

Walked 27 minutes this morning.

Got the bright idea to mow the lawn even though Alex is coming Monday. Mowed the front and side and the rain came. I need to work up to mowing the whole lawn slowly, anyway.

Got the hoses out and watered my dying tree--I knew that would bring rain!

Am relaxing the rest of the day.

AK--I am not sure I could change a light switch. Probably zap myself!

My crabapple is blooming and is gorgeous. Tutu--enjoy your flowers.

AK--Way to go. I am impressed.

I have been getting rashes on my face and no where else on the body. I am going to try a different lotion, although I use is supposedly pretty natural and hypoallergenic. I think the green tea in it may be bothering me, but it might be something else.

I usually don't have the rash when I get up in the morning. Odd.

Tutu--No changes in diet and rash is more on the right side of my face which is the side I sleep on, although I have a slight rash on the other side as well.

I have not changed laundry detergent or facial soap, either (use Dove for sensitive skin)

I think I will avoid any lotion on my face for a few days and see what happens.

I suppose hormone changes could be the cause.

Energy healer said she got a slight positive response to energy testing my Alba lotion that I use. She did not think hormonal changes were the cause, but she is not always correct.

Dove is the only thing I can use on my face .. besides safflower oil.

Might want to make sure you use unscented laundry soap .. better yet, look into soap nuts.

I buy from Green Virgin ..

https://greenvirginproducts.com/

I know someone who was disappointed in another brand that she bought from Amazon, so I would suggest buying directly from this company.

My first bag of soap nuts lasted me 5 years! Talk about cheap!!

The only thing you have to deal with is "finding" the bag of nuts after a wash. It's best not to put them through the dryer because they will dry out faster and won't last as long.

Buy extra bags .. about 5 of them.

What does "finding the bag mean? Does it mean finding the bag among the clothes? Can the nuts be reused or do they get thrown away after each wash? I am a soap nut neophyte!!

Did some cooking and baking today. I started out on a walk and 35 mph winds blew me around to much, so turned back around.

I pulled a few dandelions, but would say my main exercise was chasing a wasp around the living room. [dizzy] Finally got it but broke my fly swatter. Must be a nest near the front door. [cussing]

I will have a lazy afternoon and evening.

They are re-used. You can do about 10 washes with them.. maybe less.

So yes, you dig them out of the clothes. They love to hide. Their favorite fabric is cotton, of course! [Big Grin]

We went out at 5:30pm to attend Easter Vigil services and my husband's car had 3 flats!!! Yes, count them. THREE!!!

So .. we just got home an hour ago and he is still out there pumping air into them. We'll see how quickly they go flat again. We are perplexed by it!! Happy Easter to us! [Big Grin]

Saturday-2 workout DVDs and went walking at the rec center trail with Josh and his dog Ada. Later grilled out some teriyaki chicken and had rice and brocolli.

Also helped my brother fix the toilet.

Roasting prime rib tomorrow and making usual au jus and horseradish cream. Doing baked potatoes and green beans. Just going to be me, Mom and Josh so a laid back holiday.

Hiker-I've been using Jason's Creme C Effects for my face. I have psoriasis on my face also and have to be careful what I use.

TuTu-Have heard of some folks letting air out of peoples tires. Have any young hoodlums around? So odd that 3 tires were flat.

Anyways....hope everyone has a wonderful Easter!
