Come join our friendly thread where we motivate each other to exercise or just comment on our day.

Almost anything counts as exercise here: walking, laundry, shopping, vacuuming, shoveling, painting etc. [Smile]

Today I drove the hour back from my parents.

I did two loads of laundry which meant doing the stairs about six times.

I dropped off my recycling and the bins are right by the grocery store, so I did a quick trip into the store to get some on sale items.

The library beckoned my name again.

Now I am going to spend the rest of the afternoon just relaxing and reading. I will probably use my gift card to go get a gluten-free pizza for dinner tonight.

AK—safe travels this week!

Have a great week everybody! [hi]

Sounds like a good day, hiker! I'm glad you made it back safely!!

Lots of rain over here today. Supposed to get 1-5 inches by tomorrow.

AK .. I gave them a letter from my doctor when I was diagnosed almost 4 years ago. Later, the secretary and husband tried to bring back some more fragrances and I threw the stuff out a few times!

So they gave that up and got something even worse a few weeks ago in the bathrooms. I have a "family" bathroom that is mostly safe for me.

But then last week, they put in some horrible deodorizer .. I suspect it was in the HVAC somewhere. I thought I was going to die.

We met with Pastor this week and he finally realized he had to speak to her. So I'm supposed to talk to her husband this week.

I just emailed her for his phone number. I know she is fuming. She is convinced that the church stinks and we have to "fix" it .. Trust me, it smells fine.

I don't know who keeps complaining about the smell, but she claims someone keeps telling her it stinks. Some think that everything must smell like a flower.

So .. that is the story. If my husband wasn't the musical director, we would be very tempted to just leave. We do love our church family though. The secretary does not attend church. I should be thankful for that.

So .. what did I do today? Not much!!

Hi everyone! Thanks Hiker for getting us going for another week! Glad you had a safe trip home. Gluten free pizza sounds delicious!

TuTu I went to the SCAD museum here in Savannah today but they were closed. The lower level was open so I went in to use their bathroom. Big mistake! They just cleaned it and the cleaner they used smelled horrific! Glad I made it out safely. What is wrong with the church secretary? Reading your post had me fuming! Sheesh....Hoping they'll wakeup!

I've been doing a whole lot of walking since I got here yesterday. Once my friend gets out of class she's going for an outdoor run and I'll get on the elliptical here at the hotel. Later we'll hit the Savannah streets for walking, sightseeing and dinner.

See you all tomorrow!

[hi]

Went to chiropractor.

Pouring rain which will turn to snow tomorrow.

Watching Illini basketball later.

AK . public restrooms are getting worse and worse. I can hardly stand them, yet I need them constantly!! The church secretary is a piece of work. (I'm being nice.)

So I have begun to pray for her to find a better job. I know she is NOT looking for one, however! HA! She has a cush deal with us.

hiker .. Winter will be over soon!! Hang in there!!

My exercise today was cleaning off the bar .. still working on it... lol... and washing the towels. Next I'll wash the rugs in my bathroom.

I also drove down to take the trash and get the mail. It's been rainy all day, but not bad.

Shoulder therapy was postponed again today at the clinic because the therapist is still out ill.

I did some range of motion exercises for my shoulder this morning. I think I’m getting tendonitis in my left knee as I have had in the past, so I did a little bit of strengthening for it as well.

I went over to the rec center and walked inside for 25 minutes. Felt good to get out between the snowflakes.

No weather forecast can seem to say the same amount of snow so the prediction is somewhere between three and 8 inches but I think it will be the lesser amount. As usual the winds will be the issue.

My once a month cleaning lady came today. I really need to get a lighter vacuum and do most of this myself, but she is so good at what she does and I know she really needs the money. So I can afford this once a month luxury.

I will spend the rest of the day reading and relaxing and I do plan to watch the Democratic debate tonight. Not that I expect anything new to come from it but I do enjoy politics.

I'm still in Savannah and walking all the time! I walk around during the day time and then once my friend gets out of class we walk to dinner and all around near the river and downtown.

Hiker sure hope the shoulder does OK!

TuTu I'll be praying for the same outcome!

See you guys tomorrow!

Once again my physical therapy evaluation was canceled because the therapist is still sick. The receptionist said they had several therapists that were out all week probably with the flu.

So, now I am scheduled for next Tuesday. I feel bad that the therapist is ill. I really do like her but I want to get going on this.

I did my balance exercises and some knee strengthening today.

The guy who usually shovels my snow didn’t show up so my neighbor came over to do it. By the time he came over half the snow on the driveway had melted but I did have huge drifts over the rest of the driveway and the sidewalk. God bless my neighbor Howard!

Deb is coming to take me to church tonight along with another parishioner so hopefully we can find a parking space that is close to the door.

AK—walking in Savannah sounds great. Heading back home today to grab your mom and go up to Nashville?

Well, I guess the good news is that you weren't exposed to the flu, hiker!!!

Savannah .. I've never been there. My loss, I am sure! Have fun!

So the past two days I've had nerve pain in my head. It's the kind that makes you want to run away from home. Hahaha. Just horrible.

Last night, I finally decided to lie down for a bit even though I knew I wouldn't be able to sleep. The pain was horrific.

I prayed for God to give me some time to sleep. Somehow I found a pain-free spot and FELL ASLEEP. The lights were still on when I woke up 4 hours later. I was afraid to move for fear the pain would crank up again.

I made it to the bathroom and back to sleep for another few hours. Total miracle.

Today is still mostly OK .. I pray it stays that way. I saw my GP yesterday and he suggested I go see my chiro. So off I go tomorrow before my Bible study. The pain was so bad yesterday that I'm sure I would not have been able to lie on the table for acupuncture and chiro.

The fragrance at church .. They changed to "lemon" .. it's better, but I'm still very worried about it. I spent most of the service close to tears. My husband asked me at lunch, "Why do people think we need any fragrance?" I said because they think the stale smell will kill them or something.

Tutu—hope the nerve pain is better. Can’t believe the church doesn’t get that they need to use no fragrance products to clean.

I went to Bible study this morning.

I did my knee strengthening exercises and a lot of stretches this afternoon.

Went grocery shopping.

Illini basketball on TV this evening.

Not as much walking today and I got home from Savannah around 5:30. Colored my hair (looks great) light brown and did a mani/pedi for the wedding in Nashville. Leaving tomorrow around 9:00 a.m.

Had the best time while in Savannah. Walked a lot and sampled local beers, honey, mead and specialty cocktails. We ate lunches and dinners at the best places and I'm sure I gained more weight!

Hiker you have the best neighbors!

TuTu I hope the nerve pain goes away pronto!

Well gang have to try and get some shut eye. Night everyone!

I did my balance exercises and some stretching.

Blew my gluten free diet by going to local bakery/coffee shop and having a bagel with cream cheese and then a freshly made donut. I like to hang out there and read.

Spent some time researching some chondromalacia exercises but want to talk to PT or orthopedic surgeon first.

I think some of my balance exercises are flaring up the knee pain. I know I have chondromalacia but I might have other problems with the knee as well. Even walking or bending hurts the knee. [shake]

Washed my flannel sheets and put them right back on the bed. Snow flurries all day here but not amounting to any accumulation.

Started writing another poem, but haven't finished it, yet. Off to read a bit before friend comes over. I will decline the burrito bowl tonight. LOL

AK .. It's better .. pretty much left after I prayed about it that night. I had a few sharp pains here and there that night and the next morning, but was OK after that. Whew!!

Hiker .. I bet that is the problem! I tried to do some exercises like Tai Chi but couldn't do it. Too much weight on one leg at a time.

I ran errands today and washed some clothes. Also washed the bathroom rugs. I like to wash them when I can put them on the balcony to dry, but I finally gave up and decided to wash them anyway.

It actually was sunny today, but I didn't think it was going to be. It was sunny when I was out shopping, and I washed the rugs later.

I have choir rehearsal tomorrow and then off to the city for a MCAS support group meeting.

Haven't heard from LP in two days. Guess we'd better send her a text!

Tutu--So glad your nerve pain is better.

I did 2 loads of laundry and some cooking.

Ran errands and stopped by the library.

Went for a short walk.

Ended up napping in my recliner this afternoon.
