Whew!! I survived the sermon today. There is so much info out there on the Rapture. It was pretty overwhelming to choose which information to include.
I understand how hard it must be for our Pastor each week!! Our Pastor has been with us for about 17 years and he has never repeated a sermon, as far as I know.
So ... We ordered out again for lunch and I'll be taking a nap soon .. I think!
Have a great day!!

Tutu—I am so impressed that you gave the sermon on such a tough subject today. Congrats!
I went to church via zoom again. I think I will continue attending online for quite a long time, especially now that I’m able to see my parents outside at the retirement center.
I did a load of laundry. And then I went outside and got dirty myself by weeding. Pretty muddy from yesterday’s rain but a good time to get some weeds pulled and hoed.
I am off to call my mother. I just saw her on Thursday and talked to her on Friday but I always call her on Sunday. They celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary yesterday. Wow!
Then I may watch some NFL football. I am taping the Bears game although I don’t have much hope for them. Cubs look pretty good though in baseball.
Have a great week!😎

Me and Mom tag teamed dinner tonight. I made salad and the dressing, boiled red potatoes and sauteed prepackaged broccoli Normandy. Mom made marinated boneless pork cutlets.
I made myself a smoothie and enjoyed the chit chat.
The non-English speaking students are starting school tomorrow and I'm worried about Josh. I hope and pray that everything will be OK.
TuTu I'm so proud of you! Takes courage to do what you did today! I think your lunch and nap are well deserved!
Hiker that is amazing that your folks have been married 67 years! I don't blame you for taking extra precautions so that you can visit with them. Kudos on the yard work and laundry!
Off to read!

Wow, hiker! 67 years...so amazing! I'm glad you got to talk to your mom again.
I am being extra careful too because my brother is coming THIS FRIDAY!!! I pray we will both be able to stay well so we can see each other. I miss him so much.
The three of us have not been together since our mother died either. The brothers have gotten together and I go see my Texas brother every year. But all three is a challenge.
I'm going to be busy cleaning and baking this week. I HOPE to make some kolaches for him. For sure, I'm making the cherry cheesecake!
Thanks for the kudos on the sermon. One of my friends told me I'm hired. HAHA!

Tutu--So glad you get to see your brother. Like you I wish I saw my brother more often. Too far away.
I did my knee exercises.
I went to the chiropractor this morning, so have taken it pretty easy to hold adjustment.
Gassed up the car and for once the station had fluid etc. to clean my windshield.
Filled bird feeders. Need to get more safflower seeds.
Grilled pork chops. I will cut one tonight into little pieces and add to a spinach lettuce salad with blackberries and green beans. Sounds weird, I know, but actually quite good. Add a little ranch dressing, too.
Called the Residential Support lady at my parents' retirement center. She and her colleague will go talk to my parents this week about getting an aide/caregiver a couple of afternoons a week mainly for my dad.
I am sure mom will resist, but yesterday she was so worried about him she said he may have to go to the dementia center of the retirement home. If that were to happen she would be unable to see him due to covid. Wish she could see that an aide would be helpful. I know she is frustrated because he cannot hear and barely can speak. He is so forgetful and doesn't read or watch tv. I couldn't bear to separate them.
I enlisted the help of my mom's best friend to convince her to at least get a caregiver's assessment and invest in a life alert bracelet.
Worked a bit on my Bible study.

Did the laundry and hung it out to dry. Started the washer filling with water and forgot to put a load in one time. Oh, that bugs me! What a waste of soap & water & time!
Pulled weeds in the flower bed also. Emptied some flower pots that the plants had died. Sonny chopped down the volunteer sunflowers. We'll save the seeds to feed the birds this winter.

Went to the bank then Sam's and the commissary. Afterwards me and Mom rested. Later dropped Mom off at her BFF's for dinner and I shopped around a bit at Marshalls.
TuTu I had to google kolaches. I was reading about the one made with nuts. Looks so good!
Hiker that salad sounds delicious and healthy! I plan on eating a salad topped with some type of protein every day after my fast. I'm on day 14 but am having an occasional smoothie. I hope and pray that things work out for your folks!
Manna when I was really sick with Lyme I'd forget to put the clothes in the washer quite often. One time I did it more than once and gave up doing laundry for awhile.
Sheesh....can't keep my eyes open. Night all!

hiker .. Definitely stress to your mom that a caregiver would keep them from being separated. OH, sigh!!! I hope you win on this one!
Ak.. No nuts needed. Don't mess them up. LOL.. Do you mean added on top?
I may make some this week, but I made a pie last night for my friend .. and will make another one soon. I was exhausted after standing so much and for cleaning so much.
Everything looks very clean, but I'm deep cleaning. My Norwex cloths are getting a work out. I love them!
So today I am baking some chicken so I can make King Ranch chicken later this week. Danged if the power didn't go out halfway through!!
It's back on now and the chicken will be fine. It will just have more histamine. Sigh.
I was trying to get a little shut-eye right when the power went off. So it was hot and I was worried about the chicken. No nap.
Hope everyone in Alabama will be OK with this storm!! I think MS too.
AK ,. stay safe with it!!
Manna... I've done that before! The washer I have now will not start unless I close the lid, so that helps.

I slept in a bit this morning.
Did my knee exercises.
Washed 8 windows inside and outside. Only 11 more to go.
Thought my cleaning lady might be interested in finishing them for me as some are hard to with shoulder, but this year she wasn’t interested. She has washed them in the past.
Worked on my Bible study.
Sadly, a bird flew into my patio window and died. I put up some glass hangings so maybe they will see the color and not hit the window.
Waiting for residential support assistant to call me about meeting with my parents today. I am not a super patient person when I want to get things done.

Pulled more weeds today, I think we got them all from the flowerbed and the strawberry bed.
Also did two loads of bedding. Ready to crawl into bed with nice, fresh clean smelling sheets!
Am looking up how to transplant asparagus plants. Discovered when they are huge old plants, they can have lots of little plants in to transplant into more rows! That will be nice to get free plants!
I'd like to plant more rhubarb. I think I'll buy seeds and start my own. Its expensive to buy cuttings and the one I did buy, died. The ones I have were started from seed.

Just finished my SI and shoulder PT.
Had a super busy day. Dusted and vacuumed, mopped floors, did laundry, cut up and froze a rotisserie chicken, made chicken salad and cut up a pineapple for my Mom.
Cut my Mom's hair in the carport and cleaned up afterwards.
TuTu the recipes I saw were basically all nuts. Think we'll catch the tail end of the hurricane. I know what you mean about being exhausted from house cleaning!
Hiker that poor bird! I don't know if I'm going to get to the windows this year. Hope you can get some help with your folks.
Manna you sure have been busy! I love asparagus and rhubarb. One of my friends favorite pie is strawberry rhubarb pie.
OK gang I'm calling it a night!

I like strawberries and I like rhubarb, but don't put them together in my pie!! Not sure why I don't care for it that way. I guess I like the pure flavors of each.

Manna-rhubarb pie is a favorite of mine. I’ll be by next spring to sample some fresh pie
I went grocery shopping this morning.
Did my knee exercises. I figured grocery shopping warms me up for those. Lol
Washed 8 more windows. Still have a few to go. May need to hire someone to climb the ladder to do the outside of my living room windows. 2nd story. Also may need help lifting windows out and back in above my kitchen sink. I would hate to drop one.
Talked to one of the residential support assistants at my parents retirement home. I like this gal and wish she was full time. She follows up our phone calls with a detailed email and I appreciate that.
She thinks she has mom convinced to get life alert wrist bands for her and dad. Tammy said she would help mom make the call to order them. I could easily do it but I want my mom to feel like she has some control.
Mom said that they didn’t need a caregiver even for a few afternoons a week, so we will keep working on that. Some progress is still progress.
AK-I am impressed that you cut your mom’s hair. I am sure if I did that for my mom, I would be disowned! It would be a creative haircut, though. 🤣
I need to go water my potted plants outside.
Have a great evening.

Had a leisurely day. Had to take my Mom to PT for her back and pick up Josh from work. He had car trouble and ubered to work this morning. We dropped his car off at the shop and he's borrowing mine.
Not even 6:00 and Mom is heading for bed and I'm left to lounge around for the rest of the evening. Yay!
Manna I might be tagging along with Hiker to sample that pie!
TuTu chomping at the bit to check out the videos!
Hiker glad you all are making some headway with the parents! Had to laugh about the remark about the haircut!
Off to watch the videos!

I had Bible study this morning via zoom!
Then did my balance exercises. Went to Farm and Fleet and got ready to pay and realized that I left my wallet at home. So they left the stuff in the cart until I came back with money. Lol
I bought 20 pounds of birdseed and some tubs with lids to keep it in. Also bought a scale. Weighed myself and did not like the number. Took off my shoes and emptied my pockets and got back on the scale and it said I weighed an additional 3 pounds. Grr. Guess I have incentive to lose the 10 pounds I have gained.
Off to read for a bit.

Intended to cut my hair but have been chilling most of the day.
No exercise or PT either.
Manna it's always fun to chat with family!
Hiker you can lose that weight in no time! I'm battling to lose my last 15. Boy is it a struggle!
TuTu I watched 2 of the videos so far and OMG those kolaches look heavenly! I've got to watch the other two!
Josh is here to do some school work since his power went out. I nuked him some mixed veggies and a TV dinner.
Off to play a computer game!

I slept in a bit. Temperatures were in the 40s last night and sometimes it’s just wonderful to snuggle under the covers. And so nice to turn off the AC.
I did my knee exercises this morning.
Went to the library this afternoon to drop off books and pick up a few more.
Went for a short walk.
Ended up yakking with my Florida buddy for over an hour.
Worked a little bit on Bible study and just plan to relax and read tonight. Not sure how it got to be Friday already.

Let's see, the only thing I did today was cut my hair. Another day of no exercise or PT. Oh and I went and got my blood work done. Hope everything is OK, especially my cholesterol level.
Hiker way to go on the exercises and walk! It's finally getting cooler here too so I might do some yard work next week.
I download books from the library onto my Kindle and I was on the last 75 pages and my loan expired. Dang it! Now I have to see if it's available. Thought I could finish it but wasn't sure what time it would run out.
Well guess I'll play a computer game.

Did a load of laundry.
Watched the funeral of my best friend’s father (live streamed.) Even she did not fly across the country for fear she would pick up Covid and give it to her mom or bring it back to her mother-in-law. Felt so bad for her. We grew up three houses apart so I knew her dad really well.
Went for a walk. 60’s today and sunny.
Am reading now and watching a bit about RBG. What an inspirational woman.
