He tested positive for Lyme Disease. He is non Symptomatic right now so we are not going to start him on abx's. He has had symtoms in the past but because he apears to be so healthy right now we don't want him to get sicker. So at the first sign we will start treatment.

I thought I would let you guys know. Add Allen to your prayer lists. I don't want him to have to go through this stuff.

Hi Cindy,

I'm very sorry to hear this news..but you know it is really way ahead of the game that you are aware to keep an eye.

Doc Jones here also does not treat positive tests in kids who are asymptomatic.

Much better off that his immune system is strong and supported and fights this, so long as he remains symptom free.

He is in the greatest hands..

Mo

Thanks Kara and Mo,

I really couldn't stand the thought of him going on abx's if he had it so I was happy that they did not want to treat him.

My husband was tested today to. he is showing minor symptoms and they desided to go ahead and start him on abx's which I am not thrilled about. He has had two tick bites in the past that had a rah and were only treated with 10 days of abx's. I guess they know best. I guess I just feel he seems too healthy to me. Maybe they look at it different in adults. I just don't want any of my family to go through what I have been going through. I know that I have been feeling much better but it has taken me a long time to feel this way.

I imagine with the risk of sexual transmision it is very unlikely that he does not have it though.

"I imagine with the risk of sexual transmision it is very unlikely that he does not have it though."

Woo-woo.. what's that supposed to mean

Just teasing..ya gotta have humor

I think it is dofferent for adults..and better to treat early in his case, I bet is the thinking..

All the best, Cindy..from one Lymo family to another.

You sound like you are on the right track with treatment, and I'm glad you yourself are responding well! I know it isn't an easy ride.

Best,
Mo

Hey Cindy,

Hang in there. I know you have the knowledge to help him. That is the (unfortunate) good thing.

Keep us informed. Prayers for your whole family.

Amanda

WHOOOOHOOOOO !!!! Cindy Loo,

It's really great news about Allen

I'm in the same category as far as Dr. J is concerned. My immune system after 10 years of off again on again active symptoms, finally got strong enough to put me in remission and therefore don't need to be treated as of now!

It's a very good thing for Allen as he is young and can only hope to get stronger and healthier. I'm hoping andpraying he will never have to go on the meds. Just be careful that "if" he should happen to get a bite again, to get the "standard" antibiotic dose asap.
I'm betting D. will do just fine on the treatment and won't have to be on too long since his symptoms are mild right now. Really good report from the the Dr.

Everyone......I had a chance to meet with Cindy for lunch when she and family came to see Dr. J in Huntersville. I live nearby.

Just want to share that this lady should go on American Idol and "SING" !!! Cindy has an amazing voice.... do you know she even sang a song she had written for me acapela in my car before I left !?! Truly, she's a ton of talent who definitely has the voice, but writes songs beautifully too.

I think we'll have a chance to see her have some music published when she feels up to the recording process again, so, be on the look out in the year to come for her to get back in a studio and so some serious music. Keep her in your prayers about that please.

Wish all ya'll could meet her up close and personal.....she's a doll.

Sorry, to make you blush Cindy, but you're worth the recognition.
