We're losing our oldies around this neck of the woods. Pop-in -law, a Pearl Harbor survivors, left us about three months ago and mom-in-law left us at the beginning of Oct.. My most powerful was in the dumps for quite awhile. Freddy Fender, my friend and old customer pasted in Oct., He was a very down to earth man without pretense.
My most powerful was thinking that you can't take it with you, so she went out and bought a bus. A 42' Allegro Bus and it is a jewel, easy to drive but it is still 42'! We took it on a shakedown to Red Bay, Alabama where the factory is and toured. While we were there, they towed in a coach like ours with a burned out engine compartment. On the way home we stopped in a rest area to walk the dogs and noticed something leaking under the engine compartment, it was fuel! Road service had us up and going the next day. One of the injector lines failed and Cummins had just put out a recall on that line. My wife was a bit shaken as we had a 93 Monaco Signature burn smooth to the ground from an injector line malfunction. She swore she would never have another diesel but always lamented the loss of her big toy. She's as happy as a clam now!
Got started on my catfish, got the pumps a pumping and the aerator aerating! Put in fifty in mid Aug. and fifty in Mid Sept.. My system could handle about 2000 fish but not wanting to become a serial fish killer, I wisely limited myself. I'll take my time and breed my own next year.

Channel cats, yes, but just for fun and a little food. Maybe block parties from time to time. Fish and chips wrap in newspaper, brings back some good thoughs.

I was stationed in Louisiana in the 70's. I used to go out to a catfish farm south of Shreveport where a guy had over 1,000 surface acres of catfish ponds.
He would back a fertilizer broadcaster up to the lakes and spread food pellets across the lakes and the top of the water would just boil with fish.
He charged $1.00 a pound for fish you caught on dough bait. Some of the best catfish I ever ate. Sure do miss that stuff.
Have fun with your fish, have some for me.
