Just thought I'd post a separate thread on this, since a few of you were discussing Mary's passing on others. We're just losing so many icons now; the big chill is upon us.
Before Farrah and after Bardot became famous for their blonde good looks, there was Mary Traver's straight blonde hair and golden, warm voice.
I loved the Gordon Lightfoot and Bob Dylan tunes as only PP&M could perform them.
What's your favorite PP&M song or album? My favorite album is "A Song Will Rise". Way too many great songs on it to pick just one.
Goodbye Mary. Your voice was a big part of my younger years.

mind went blank; they loved everything they did. she had a great voice.
if i said this elsewhere, i'll put this on mary's tribute thread....
peter was in des moines, iowa 3-5 years ago representing VARIETY CLUB and here for 1st time seeing how BLANK'S CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL uses the money on the premies, etc.
peter was so impressed what iowa has to offer premie families, he announced he was going to try to bring mary and paul on his next visit to iowa for our march fundraiser; never happened.
now i understand; i didn't know she had leukemia ...

A local community theater group I was in had a variety show one year and we did a PPM medley. It was so much fun. I love all their music, but after Puff, I like "Stewball", "500 Miles".
Too many faves to chose from!
It's an odd coincidence, but I was visiting at my daughters the week before Mary died and her husband happened to pop one of the CD's in and my grandson kept replaying "Puff" over and over ...We have fun singing along.
