Sorry I know this belongs in activism, but I'm hoping that the moderators will indulge me as time is very limited for this opportunity & I want to reach out to the most people possible.

Those that "Tweet", I would really appreciate if you could tweet:

@TomCruise #2009favoritemovie 'Under Our Skin'

I'm trying to get the film mentioned there. He's got almost 200,000 followers.

Thanks!

YO AG...

First of all... I don't twit. You might twit... and even chatter too, but I don't.

AND...

I'm telling the moderators that this post is in the wrong section!

But....

Since you mentioned Tom Cruise I might have to soften up my tough girl stance just a little bit.

[Big Grin]

PS... I heard you can bribe Goofy with a chocolate bar.

Yes, she is going to kick BOTH our butts tomorrow.

Don't start with me - I'm in desperate need of some but too tired to get it. [Frown] [Big Grin]

I haven't spoken with him in 27 years, but I know he was really a nice guy back then. (Boy do I feel old right now! LOL)

I also think it would be good to illustrate the magnitude of the problem we're dealing with here.

From what I understand he does believe in antibiotics when necessary, but not psych-altering meds which get Rxd instead of actually finding & alleviating the source of the problem.

I wonder how many misdiagnosed Lyme-sufferers are given anti-depressants, anti-anxiety meds, sleep meds, pain meds, etc. and told that their symptoms are "somatoform"

or that they have Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, MS, ADD, Bi-polar Disorder, Atzheimer's....

I know I've seen an awful lot of people who've posted to that effect and MOST those are the people who've already found out what was truly wrong.

I can't imagine how many people must still be walking around out there wondering what's happening to them and being told that they're "fine", that there's 'nothing "medically" wrong' with them or that they 'don't look sick', by their physicians.

I prefer the Endandered Species brand ... the hazelnut toffee dark chocolate. I might be able to be bribed with these, but I might also make you take a pilates class because I have to test out of teacher training in two weeks and need more practice teaching!

That sounds YUMMY!

I've only found the Raspberry & Blueberry Endangered Species so far. The raspberry is really good but I think I'd probably LOVE hazelnut toffee!

If you can teach a class in NJ (& know CPR), COUNT ME IN!!!! [Big Grin] [woohoo]

That is so great!!!! Not that you'll need it, because I'm sure you won't, but I'll say a prayer for you that all goes well with your test.

Six is going to be a Pilates instructor, YOU GO GIRL!!!!! [woohoo]

Uh-Oh! If I can't get to Ohio & I can't find the right chocolate, does that mean I'm going to have my thread booted? [Roll Eyes] [Frown]

I don't know CPR, we'll have to move slowly. I know which exercises get the heart rate up, we'll just skip those. [Big Grin]

You would love the hazelnut. I also love the mint ones! Real mint, not some fakey oil!

Thanks for the good luck wishes, I'll take them! I think I'm pretty much set for test out, but nervous nonetheless. It's been fun training and I really think the exercise has helped really get me into solid remission. [Big Grin] [Big Grin] [Big Grin]

I think you're going to need to get to Ohio. [Wink] (I don't think the thread is hurting anything)

Oh how I wish I could take that class!

I've really been starting to become concerned at how easily my heart seems to want to start pounding lately. I think it might be the Rifampin. [Roll Eyes]

I'm really glad to know that you're doing so well. [Big Grin] [group hug]

I stopped shopping at the store where I found them because I can never get out of there without spending MUCH TOO MUCH money. [shake]

I'll have to check out some of the other stores around here to see if I can find those flavors, ESPECIALLY the hazelnut toffee!!! [lick]

Yeah .... good food can be $$$$$!!!!

Maybe it is the Rifampin. Some drugs are just soooo hard. I took that one, but it was at the tail end of Levaquin, so it wasn't tough on me.

Or maybe it's all Tincup's talk of bellboys? Or your talk of Tom Cruise??

[lol]

I haven't been on here much lately, I've must have missed Tinny's bellboy shenanigans.

I'll have to try to catch up later. I really need a nap now. [sleepy]

We had a bon voyage party for my 'baby' nephew last night. He's shipping off to USMC bootcamp on Tuesday and I've been doing quite a bit of crying. [Roll Eyes]

I still can't stop picturing him as a sweet little boy. I also have this fear in that back of my mind that they're going to suddenly decide he's needed oversees & send him over there half trained.

I realize that I probably have no reason to worry about him, but I can't help it. His 'little' 16 yr old sister gave a speech & had everyone, including Mr.BigToughMarine, bawling.

He'll be turning 19, 4 days after he leaves so we'll miss him for his birthday. [Frown]
He won't be home for Christmas. [Frown]
He won't be home for the January birthdays. [Frown]

I guess he should be home around his sister's birthday, so I guess that's a good thing.

I baked his favorite pie for Thanksgiving & cried while I did it. I went shopping for cards & a medal to bless for him to keep with him & cried while I did it.

I feel like I've been crying for weeks. Darn it! I'm starting again. [shake]

I have to walk away from here for a while. All this emotional stress is taking it's toll on me. I feel like I've been run over by a bus.

Why does it seem like any kind of stress causes me physical pain? Nevermind, I don't want to know.

I'm probably letting the darn critters have a field day by stressing myself out. [bonk]

I have been wondering which ones were worth a try. Now I know!!

Word of warning about the Raspberry - it has seeds.

It caught me off guard, when I first tried it, but I got past the initial surprise because they really are very delicious. [Smile]

I had to look it up. I used the locator & I just found out that my supermarket should carry it.

I also found out that they sell it online AND it's on SALE!!!! [Big Grin]

I didn't check the shipping costs though, so I don't know if it really ends up being cheaper.

That because I don't eat much candy ... it takes me a week or more to eat a whole chocolate bar! Avoiding sweets for Lyme treatment was never hard for me.

AliG, sorry about your nephew. It's a brave thing he's doing. I'm sure he enjoyed the pie. [Smile]

Me too! Actually it's more like a few months to eat a chocolate bar for me. Now my mom, DD & DH, on the other hand, are an ENTIRELY DIFFERENT story! I have to hide my emergency stash. [Roll Eyes]

TuTu-

I checked & there's a shipping estimator when you go to the check-out. I think it depends on where you are & how much you buy.

For me, in NJ, it started at $6.95 (I think [bonk] ).
You might want to check it out for yourself. [Smile]

TC-

That's one thing TuTu & I certainly have in common, an appreciation for CHOCOLATE!!!! [lick]

You can keep your ice cream & give me a nice hot, rich, steamy cup of cocoa! [Big Grin]

It's been a long time since the chocoholics have gathered in a thread. I've actually missed this. [group hug]

I'm a latteaholic. I'd take a latte over sweets any day ... in fact, I have one every day. I have a latte machine, but it's so much more fun to go pay $4 for one that comes in a paper cup!

OMG! OMG! ME TOO!!!! [Big Grin]

I was "in recovery" for a while but most of the time when I go out of the house I lose the battle.

I'm really bad though. It has to be whole milk for me, but at least I do it without sugar or whipped cream.

I actually think they've become a bigger weakness than chocolate. [Roll Eyes]

I'd really like to slap Starbucks for starting the whole latte craze. Sometimes I wish I'd never tried one....but they're so-o-o-o go-o-o-o-d!!!! [lick]

Believe it or not, I had a latte machine YEARS before I ever heard of Starbucks!!! But I do go there now, and I have updated my latte machine since then. [Smile]

I use whole milk also .... but I actually think it's BETTER for you than lower fat milk. And I can't stand whipped cream in a latte ... though I do like a little of the vanilla syrup, but I always ask for less than the norm otherwise it's just too sweet.

They are sooo good, and this is a ridiculous thread ..... where the heck are the moderators????? Anna Lee, aren't you moving this or going to try to get it on track or anything????

I just read that dairy fat doesn't have negative cardiac impact and that saturated fats are good for you.

I'll have to find the article & post the exact details so that we can make this thread have some "medical" pertinence! [Big Grin]

Tans-fats are still a HUGE no-no of course!

I always love it when science catches up to my beliefs. [lol]

I've had the machine for a lot of years too but it took too much time, was too much work & took up too much space.

Once I put it away, it only came back out about once every 5 years. I'm not even sure where it is anymore. [Roll Eyes]

Here's something funny.

I had a flash of Lyme paranoia when I got an email telling me "TomCruise is following you."

[Eek!]

Then I realized it was just that he started "following" my tweets. [lol]

This twitter thing is really strange.

I have 3 people "following" me already. Right after him one of his fans jumped on board & then when I started into posting about Lyme I picked up a fellow Lymie.

Tutu- I also loved tweety bird. [Smile] He was just so tweet. [Big Grin]

You stop picking on those moderators! [Razz]
I think they're doing an excellent job! [kiss] [Big Grin]

I'll still hope that maybe someone else did, but just didn't post anything here.

Would you like me to delete this thread, or do you want to bump it to off-topic for TuTu, in case she wants the info to order the chocolate?

I really do appreciate your kindness & I promise I'll be on my best behavior for the ENTIRE rest of this month! ;p

I also want to thank everyone who participated in the silliness in this thread. I haven't had much to laugh about lately & this thread was very therapeutic, fattening but therapeutic. [lol]

Love to all!
[group hug]
Ali

Thanks, Ali for thinking about me. I really NEED to order that chocolate!!

Sure am sorry to hear that you get no more special favors this month. You'll have to wait until next month to do something else crazy!!

Am I safe now? [lol]

Should I order a case of chocolate for this month or should I just behave myself? [Big Grin]

You know I love you TuTU! [kiss]

This is where chocolate belongs!!!! [woohoo]

It feels a little more like home with some chocolate in off-topic. Don't you think? [spinning smile]
