I can't make it sorry. I have dives that day but I have someone local that is going. If anyone needs a ride from Basking Ridge let me know.
I also think it would be good to contact the Jersey Guys nj1015.com
They have a great following and a segment by Jim Gehart every morning called "GRIP" GET RID OF INCUMBENT POLITICIANS.
Hopefully if enough people write in they might pick it up in time for the rally.
Just a though,
Julia

If you're planning on showing up with signs of this nature, I don't believe I would want my image associated with this in the media.
I find it disturbing & I think it may get MORE media coverage than signs that would more clearly state the messages, drawing attention away from them.
I think you're mostly just referring to pingpong's replies and rightly so, but I'm guessing the nature of protests is that you're not going to completely agree with a fair share of the sentiments/beliefs from people at a given protest, or at least how they voice these sentiments, even if you generally agree with their stances. I've never been to a protest but assume that would be the case pretty much across the board.

I could see MAYBE if it were a protest staged outside of something relating to IDSA, but a Congressman's office?
Exactly HOW do statements like pingpong's encourage or motivate the Congressman to put the Lyme Bill on the agenda?
IMO, they just skew the message.
It would seem that we can't collectively agree on our arguments & therefore are not much of a threat. I would think we could be end up being ignored if our message is not clear.

I guess I just assumed we all knew to ignore those posts...
I am hoping someone from LDA will be "driving the bus" tomorrow, and that signs of an offensive or inappropriate nature will not be allowed.

Oh, I completely agree with you, AliG. Sorry if I came across indicating otherwise; I deviated quite a bit from my normal diet the past couple days so my mind's in a bit of a fog today.
I was just trying to say that, pingpong's absurd replies aside, I think protests by nature are going to have a number of people who agree in general on a given issue (in this case, trying to get the lyme bill to move forward) but vary in terms of their specific thoughts/beliefs and how they may express them. I'd guess that at any protest, especially larger ones irrespective of the issue being protested, there are plenty of people who if interviewed by reporters, speaking at a podium, or holding signs would express themselves in a manner or with statements that many others at the protest disagree with.
I'd think this expression would probably be more streamlined in smaller protests, and hopefully as Tracy stated, somebody will be presiding over the protest tomorrow to keep out any offensive/counterproductive signs.
Hope the protest goes well tomorrow. I don't anticipate being able to get there, but I haven't ruled it out.
