Immune Responses and Symptoms in Lyme Disease Patients and Healthy Controls

Are you interested in participating in a research project at Stanford University researching Lyme disease?
You could be included in this important research if you: * are a patient of one of the following doctors: Dr. S, Dr. G, Dr. P, or Dr. S * have been diagnosed with Lyme disease * are an adult aged 21 years or older * speak and read English * have never been homeless * have not taken antibiotics for 2 consecutive years in the last 5 years * allow for your medical record to be reviewed within this provider's office for diagnoses and lab results
This study will evaluate and compare the sensitivity of various Lyme disease tests to their clinical diagnoses and test results of persons who are healthy and have never been diagnosed with Lyme disease.
Participants will have their blood drawn for diagnostic tests used for Lyme disease. Following this, they will complete questionnaires related to quality of life, demographics, distress, medical symptoms and treatment, coping and pain during a one-time 2 to 3 hour visit at Stanford University.

Can you test the participants for the novel virus XMRV? That would be valuable...
I guess we'll find just a big of percentage in chornic lyme patients as in the other syndromes (me/ms/fms etc).

Yes, a add on would be great. Published separatly. There are good chances the WPI or Harvey Alter's NIH lab could give you a discount. Chances are even they would analyze it for free if they could be co authors of the add on...
I think that would take us a leap forward. Many chronic lyme patients are suspecting XMRV. Even burrascano is suspecting XMRV. If you could contribute here than it's greatly appreciated.

A negative result would also take us forward... Then we've tured that stone, and can keep on looking for something else which might help those patients... Thanks for the reply by the way.
