I just submitted a letter of request to the School Board to show Under Our Skin... school board meeting is tonight!

Wish me luck!

Here is a copy of the letter. I thought it might help someone else to have a template to work from. (I edited names out):
To the members of the **town name** School Board:

I am requesting to use the large group instruction room on May 18, 2011 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm to show a documentary on Lyme disease.

The film raises issues of outdoor safety and the importance of immediate treatment for a full recovery from Lyme disease. We will have informational brochures available from the Lyme Disease Association and a Lyme Literate medical doctor there to answer questions and start a dialogue after the movie.

UNDER OUR SKIN is a gripping tale of microbes, medicine and money, Under Our Skin (produced and directed by Andy Abrahams Wilson) exposes the hidden story of Lyme disease, one of the most controversial and fastest growing epidemics of our time. Each year thousands go undiagnosed or misdiagnosed, often told that their symptoms are "all in their head."

Following the stories of patients and physicians fighting for their lives or livelihoods, the film brings into focus a haunting picture of the healthcare system and a medical establishment all too willing to put profits ahead of patients.

The purpose of the film is to help educate community members about Lyme and other tick-borne diseases. With education and awareness, we can help prevent other children and members of our community from the crippling long term illness that tick borne diseases can cause.

**my son**, who should be attending school at **our town** Elementary, turned 12 in January, 2011. Instead of a birthday party with friends, cake and ice cream, he spent the day sick and tired. The same way he has spent most every day since June of 2010. **my son** has been diagnosed with chronic Lyme disease and other tick-borne diseases (Babesia, Bartonella & Mycoplasma Pneumonia).

**my son** sees a pediatrician from **, Dr. B, who became educated in Lyme disease when she was knocked down by the disease herself. Dr. B has agreed to attend the viewing of Under Our Skin on May 18th to answer any questions the attendees may have.

I intend to invite healthcare providers in the area including **, **, ** and possibly others so that they may gain some understanding of this disease so they will be more able to help members of our community stay healthy.

For more information on Under Our Skin you can watch the trailers on www.youtube.com/openeyepictures or visit the film's website at www.underourskin.com

If you have any questions, please contact me, **my name** at **my phone Number** or **my email**

Thank you for your time and consideration,

**my name**

May health be with you!

Toxic mold was suppressing our immune systems, causing extreme pain, brain fog and magnifying symptoms. Four days after moving out, the healing began.

I saw the film at a local high school here in Maine. I was shocked that there were only about 6 people there besides my husband and me.

I thought it was a wonderful thing for them to be showing that. Why weren't there more people there? That really bothers me.

People have got to be informed about the ticks and Lyme, and they have got to see the film.
