Kaiser permenente in fontana calif said they will not let me see an infectious disease specialist even though my regular md said I should see one. The reason was, they said it was denied because of it was probably a false positive from Igenex due to the refrence article in the new england medical journal. That was all they gave me. I have no idea what was said in this article. anyone heard of anything. It must be pretty bad that they can outright refuse to see me and base it on this article. I cant believe this. I will write the address in my next post and maybe everyone can write them a letter about how they are being treated and how there symptoms are and what you feel about them. It might help to change things. I dont know. Im so outraged its not even funny. I will see what I can do legally. Its pathetic with our heath care system in the united states. We really need some huge change. Till next time. any input???

Call Igenex (you can get the phone number at www.igenex.com), tell them the situation, and ask if they can provide information to refute the NEJM article.
If that doesn't work, hire a lawyer.

Call your California support group, and call CALDA for advice, Also, try to obtain a copy of their insurance issue of lyme times.
Also, search on this site for comments and possibly references that dispute the article.
Also, search this site for insurance appeals. Conniemc and one other person who fought insurance co's denials and got paid, are 2 vague memories. There is much discussion on this.
