Thanks Robyn and everybody for putting this in the spotlight. The collection of Lyme patient stories on Oprah.com is growing.

Let's go for all the visibility we can and post to as many of these as make sense for each of us -

1. Email show ideas to Oprah producers here

http://www.oprah.com/email/reach/email_showideas.jhtml

2. "Be on the show" (shows they're already working on)

"Just click on the show subject below to read more about it. If the topic pertains to you, fill out the form on that page and tell us your story."
http://www.oprah.com/tows/intheworks/tows_works_main.jhtml

3. Post our stories on Oprah.com Lyme support group board

There is a post from Oprah staff member within the Lyme board confirming that the health support boards are by and for members, so by posting our stories we're not actually contacting Oprah's staff directly. But hopefully with enough stories on there it will help us get maximum attention.

http://boards.oprah.com/WebX/.f161b7a/124

(This is where it's located on the website:
O Groups > Support Groups > Health Support Groups > The Agony of Lyme Disease !!! )

Also
There are a bunch of other options on this page, and you can request email notices for shows on topics you're interested in, such as Medical or Health & Fitness.
http://www.oprah.com/email/email_landing.jhtml

I am going to do the "email the producers" then tell them which story is mine on the support board so they can read all the miserable details!

Every little bit helps!

>> I hate to overload the Lymenet medical board with activism stuff - but if anyone thinks this post should go in medical (to get more notice) - please feel free!

Hi Dancer -- this post was originally in Medical Questions and it got moved to Activism. I agree with you about the multiple ways to contact the Oprah staff. The only posts that are visible to all are at the Health Support Group site, so I strongly feel the stories need to be posted there, with also communication at the other sites about doing this show.

Something went through my mind tonite -- as 9/11 had its pictures up in NYC, the Viet Nam war memorial has its names up, the AIDs movement has its quilts, we too should have something that's growing that everyone adds to. A wall of stories...

Great Idea Robin!

my mother was just talking the Aids quilt thing.

We do need something like that.

That way we can show people how big this thing really is!
