Hi -- the state of California just came out with a tick and tick-borne disease warning. It's mentioned in Medical today. I called our senator offices about it today.
The SF bay area is doing a good job now of responding to the recent oil spill in the SF bay area, and I began to think why can't we have a disaster response to the tickborne disease situation, with funding for education programs for people, animals and landscaping, as well as plans for pro-active preventive measures.
So we can write the senators with our suggestions at:
Senator Barbara Boxer/112 Hart Senate Office Bldg/Washington DC 20510
Senator Dianne Feinstein/331 Hart Senate Ofice Bldg/Washington DC 20510

I just wrote a letter to the LA Times about the California warning & how Lyme has not been reported by the LA Times.
